I still remember seeing this girl on her first days of breastfeeding.
Severely engorged & in pain.
Didn't know how long she'll go, But, look at her now.
3.5 years of breastfeeding!!
Today's Maya's birthday. The day I started breastfeeding. My journey went on for almost 4 years. 💕
Many people from the previous generation think young women today
1. Don't secrete enough.
2. Are not interested in breastfeeding
3. Won't feed for long.
4. Worried about looks / sagging.
Well let me tell them loud & clear.
In my 4.5 years of helping young moms, I haven't met even one girl not interested to breastfeed. Everyone wants to nurture their young ones with their precious milk.
It's just because of lack of information during pregnancy, misinformed family members, outdated methods, lack of guidance from medical professionals, early introduction to formula /bottles, trauma during childbirth, & other reasons why she can't breastfeed for long.
Not THE MOM. She's never the reason for the journey to end in between. It is the system that's at fault.
If she's struggling, don't guide her to a doctor. Always guide her to a certified or an international board certified lactation consultant.
There are many kinds of certifications & is the top most.
There are people who don't do good certifications & are practicing too. If you don't get the kind of help you deserve, go to another person. Don't lose hope. Also if you want to verify, check their credentials. Ask their certificate. No harm.!

Remember, pain is common. But NOT NORMAL. Baby gaining less weight is common. But not normal. milk supply depends on demand. Not on how many litres of cows milk you drink. Too much cows milk will make you look like a cow. So be careful 😉
Go to a lactation consultant. Do whatever you can possibly do before giving up. Even if you are ending up in formula, it should be after exhausting every resource. may not be the choice of every mom, but is the right of every baby.
I wish every breastfeeding mom, a beautiful, memorable and happy experience.
