LEPCHA JAGAT : It is a small hamlet situated 14 kms from Darjeeling.It has unadulterated natural beauty with beautiful pine forests,clear blue skies and mesmerising view of the Himalayas(including Kanchanjangha).Most importantly it offers you the calm,serenity and peace one seeks from a visit to the mountains.It is a very good place for a family trip and for couples.
Things to do in and around lepcah jagat
1.Visit the sunrise point, the local monastery,the local tea garden
2.Visit: jorepokhari temple and park near sukhia pokhari.Its only a small distance from the village.It is one of the most beautiful village of North Bengal.
3.Take a day trip to tiger hill sunrise point
4.Take a leisurely stroll around the village.you will be struck by the pure beauty of the nature!

Note:There is an mirik lake in nearby 22km lepcha jagat .However it has been closed for sometime.There is also a trekking route from maneybanjyang to sandakpu falut singlalila rang national park.That was also inaccessible after monsoons.Please check before planning a visit.
LALI GURAS (RHODODENDRON) HOMESTAY : We stayed at LALI GURAS Homestay,run by Mr.SUMAN LAMA and his family.I must say we had a delightful experience.The behavior,warmth and generosity of theirs is bound to impress you.The rooms are beautifully decorated and have all the basic amenities for a comfortable stay.One should not be expecting luxury of course.The food was good With traditional land the materials used are home produced in their own organic farm!All the charges are very reasonable.I would defenitely recommend for a stay here.
To sum up,lali guras homestay is hidden gem near Darjeeling ghoom railway station where you can plan a little trip to getaway from the busy city life and enjoy the mountains in all their pure form.
