Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to support our consulting assignments. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate or final-year student with a strong academic background in development studies, economics, agriculture, or public policy.

Key Responsibilities
- Desk research and literature reviews
- Data cleaning and basic analysis (Excel/PowerPoint)
- Drafting sections of reports, presentations, and briefs
- Quickly research large amounts of academic data
- Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Interest in international development and agribusiness
- Prior internship experience in development projects is a plus
- Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines

Findings from WhitePeak’s collaboration on value chain analysis with the World Bank

Subsistence is the backbone of Timor-Leste’s non-oil economy and the sector provides for 70 percent of the population. However Timorese farmers face several constraints including limited access to quality inputs, low yields, high -harvest losses, and extreme changing weather that threaten their agricultural livelihoods. The unsustainable status of agriculture in -Leste has major implications for security and outcomes for its people. Nearly 36% of the population is chronically food insecure and 32.1% of children under 5 years of age are underweight in Timor-Leste.

The blog analyses the factors contributing to malnutrition and chronic food insecurity and explores targeted in the -food sector to improve nutrition outcomes and the food security status in Timor-Leste.
