This webinar covers Problem Solving and Change Management. Problem Solving is the art of getting from where you don' t want to be, to someplace better. From My car won' t start, to My car has started. Change Management is very similar, how do we get people to move from where they are, to someplace new. The difference between the two topics isn' t very large.

In the problem solving part of this session, Peter will focus on how we think about a problem or a challenge, what we must do first, and how we decide where we want to end up. The strategies we use when we are solving a Chess or a Computer problem or a Project problem has a lot in common. We can take lessons from how we solve a Suduko, and apply them to a Project Management.

Change Management is a very specific form of Problem Solving. Change Management challenges have a tremendous amount of similarities from one situation to another. We can apply the same types of solutions from one Change initiative to another, but first we must first recognize what Change Problems have in common before we can exploit those commonalities.

These people, who are a critical factor in an organization's value proposition,should be recognized for their perseverance and dedication to achieving targeted goals and objectives. It is extremely important for managers, project sponsors and executives to take a few moments and recognize the contributions of the project managers who are, in countless examples, a significant factor in achieving strategic objectives. Strong project leadership and the ability to create high performing project teams is a core competency in any organization and that's what project managers do! Keep in mind that project managers possess, and are continually developing "life skills" that are essential for personal and professional success.

It is important to note that IPM Day is not a celebration, it is a moment of recognition. Reserve your celebrations for your project successes and the achievements of your teams as they meet and overcome the challenges they encounter. Offer a sincere thank you to your project managers, they are indispensable in the goal of achieving desired value and positive business results.
