Honey might be an everyday staple, but there’s nothing ordinary about what it takes to get it from hive to shelf. 🍯

That's remarkable, but it depends on how the box is made. The inks, coatings and adhesives used on it determine whether those fibres get another life or get lost along the way. It's exactly what the EU's new packaging regulation, the PPWR, is now asking businesses to demonstrate.

Industry estimates put global textile waste at 92 million tonnes a year, with less than 1% ever turned back into new clothing. That's roughly the weight of 9 million elephants, tossed out year after year.

That's a shame, because old clothes still have plenty of life left in them. The fibres inside can be recovered and spun into brand new materials.

wrapped up in Mumbai this week, where we took part as the event's official Food Testing Partner.

Over two packed days at stall C5, our team walked food businesses through what total quality assurance across a food supply chain involves, from raw material checks to food labelling and packaging tests.

Our keynote on 'Farm to Fork: Total Quality Assured' took that further, covering how testing, analysis, and certification hold up across a chain that spans farms, processors, retailers, and hospitality.

This was our first industry event since we opened our lab in Navi Mumbai, giving western India's food industry a closer testing partner.
