Most EPF subscribers do not know the rules like insurance, pension, income tax deduction of Rs 6 lakh under the EDLI scheme. They also have a loyalty-cum-Life benefit rule. In this benefit, if an employee keeps his EPF account regularly for 20 consecutive years, he can get up to Rs 50,000 at the time of retirement. fact, all EPF account holders are advised to continue to contribute to the same EPF account even after they change their jobs. This allows them to avail loyalty-cum-Life benefit after contributing to the same account for 20 consecutive years.
