We are pleased to share important milestone for Jomiso that we have been awarded the
Comprehensive Dam Safety Evaluation ( ) of Barrage, which serves the 60 MW Hydro Electric Project, by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL).

Over the past few years, Jomiso has steadily built expertise across every major area covered under the Dam Safety Act, from Dam Break Studies ( ), Emergency Action Plans ( ), Early Warning Systems ( ), Flood Forecasting, Instrumentation, Reservoir Operation, Hydrological and Hydraulic studies, and Dam safety reviews to now Comprehensive Dam Safety Evaluation. With this assignment, we further strengthen our ability to support dam owners with end-to-end compliance under the Dam Safety Act, 2021.

🆕 New Project Milestone: Enhancing Dam Safety & Emergency Preparedness for and Dams in Madhya Pradesh!

We are proud to announce that Jomiso has won the prestigious Dam Safety Assignment in Madhya Pradesh for "Preparation of Emergency Action Plan ( ), Dam Break Analysis ( ), Surveys & Ground Truthing, and Operation & Maintenance ( &M) Manuals."
The Mohanpura - Kundalia projects are widely recognized as some of India's .
Award-winning and globally acknowledged for excellence, these major structures regularly host professionals and delegations from India and abroad.

The Mohanpura–Kundalia projects are also part of the broader development initiatives supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Madhya Pradesh, aimed at improving irrigation efficiency, strengthening water-resource management and promoting more sustainable use of water. We are pleased to contribute to this continuing journey by strengthening the dam safety, emergency preparedness and operational resilience of these important asset. Asian Development Bank

Beyond their impact on irrigation, these dams are critical national assets where safety and proactive disaster management are paramount. This assignment will also support compliance with the Dam Safety Act, 2021, while strengthening community safety.

As part of the assignment, we are conducting the following major activities for both of these dams under the compliance of the Dam Safety Act 2021.

We have officially commenced Phase II – Supervision of the Early Warning System ( ).

Kariba Dam built across the River between and , is one of Africa's most remarkable engineering achievements. With a storage capacity of about 180 billion cubic metres (180 BCM), it plays a vital role in the economies of both countries. At the same time, millions of people live downstream, making dam safety and emergency preparedness critically important.

Our team developed the complete technical design of the Early Warning System based on extensive hydrological and hydraulic modelling, including multiple flood and dam break inundation scenarios. The system includes two Emergency Operations Centres, a network of water level, discharge and rainfall monitoring stations, and public warning sirens covering approximately 280 km downstream of the dam.

The design was developed through extensive consultations with emergency agencies, local communities, the tourism industry and authorities managing the protected forest areas downstream.

With the project now entering the supervision phase, our role is to ensure that every component is installed, integrated, tested and commissioned exactly as it was designed.

For us, the true measure of success will be a reliable Early Warning System that strengthens resilience and helps protect nearly 3 million people living downstream of one of the world's largest reservoirs.

Jomiso Consulting was honoured to participate in the “National Workshop on R&D in Water" held yesterday at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The event brought together distinguished experts, government departments, research institutions, and industry stakeholders to advance applied research and innovative solutions for the water sector. Jomiso contributed to technical discussions across sessions covering R&D studies, aquifer mapping, floodplain modelling, river training, sand-mining impacts, and ecological assessments.
