DGFT on 15.01.2024 has removed the restriction on the import of Semi-manufactured Silver Paste, Sheets, Plates, Strips, Tubes, Electrodes, Wires, and Silver Brazing Alloys(in any form) as inputs for their own manufacturing process on an 'Actual User' basis.

DGFT Notifies Important Update for the Imports of Used IT Assets from SEZ to DTA.

DGFT Vide their notification dated 01.01.2024 has allowed the import of Used IT Assets ( Laptops, Desktops, Monitors, and Printers) from Special Economic Zones(SEZ) to Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) without a Licence for Restricted Imports.

DGFT has allowed the import of Used IT Assets from SEZ to DTA. The import was allowed only where no exemptions of any regulatory requirements availed by the Importer at the time of import into the SEZ.

The above notification covers only the goods not older than five years from the date of manufacturing and used in the SEZ Area with a minimum of 2 years of usage.

Great News on the applicability of Adhoc Norms by DGFT.

DGFT on Wednesday by its Public circular clarified that Adhoc Norms ratified on or after 01.04.2015 will also be applicable to the pending applications filed under self-declaration scheme on or after 01.04.2015.

DGFT has clarified that this will cover all the pending applications which were filed prior to the application against which ratification of such ad-hoc norms was done.

DGFT vide their Public Circular 07/2023 clarified the mandate of minimum value addition of 25% in case of Spices, imported under Advance Authorisation. It is clarified that the minimum 25% shall only be maintained where Import and export products falls under Chapter 9 of ITC HS classification. Public circular attached for ready reference.
