Two women have been injured when a man, stalking them for the last few days, threw acid at them in the Begumpur area of outer Delhi on Sunday. The two women identified as Gayatri (26) and Parvati (20) were attacked by Manoj, a daily labourer. While Gayatri suffered 20% burns, Parvati had 40% burn injuries. The two were immediately taken to a hospital. A man threw acid on a woman and her friend after his marriage proposal was rejected. The incident happened in Bagumpur area of west Delhi on Sunday evening. “Parwati, 18 and Gayatri, 16, were going to the market when a neighbour, Manoj, 23, attacked them with a bottle of acid. Some people tried to stop Manoj but he managed to escape from the spot.Parwati received around 50% burn injuries while Gayatri suffered 20% burns.
They were admitted to the Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hospital. The officer said Manoj, who is married had proposed to Parwati but his offer was rejected. According to reports, police have launched a massive manhunt to nab him.
