Metal News 22/08/2015:

* Base metals look set to end the week on a sour note, as after a brief respite yesterday, all have failed to hold onto gains and negative numbers out of china triggered another wave of downsides in prices

* Copper, which had closed above $5,100 yesterday, dropped back under $5,000 in early European sessions, before going back to trade around $5,050.

* Traders said that nickel is looking vulnerable as it edged towards $10,100 – a flash crash last week had taken this metal to just $9,100/t, and there is little in the way of support now.

* Traders said that sentiment is extremely cautious. Later today there will be numbers out of the US which could provide some direction as the week draws to a close, but ultimately the market remains driven by China
