If you’re working in a laboratory and suddenly experience an unexplained metallic taste, it can be terrifying because metallic taste is sometimes reported after exposure to ionizing radiation or certain hazardous chemicals. Very intense radiation can stimulate nerves or generate reactive molecules in saliva, producing unusual tastes or smells- something historically reported by some radiation-exposed individuals.
However, a metallic taste alone does not prove radiation exposure; many harmless medical, dietary, and environmental causes can produce the same sensation.

Edwards syndrome: (Trisomy 18) is a rare genetic disorder caused by the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 18. It affects the development of many organs and body systems and is associated with severe physical and intellectual disabilities.
Causes :
* Usually occurs because of a random error during the formation of the egg or s***m (nondisjunction).
* The risk increases with advanced maternal age, although it can occur in pregnancies at any age.
Common features :
Babies with Edwards syndrome may have:
* Low birth weight and poor growth
* Small head (microcephaly)
* Small jaw (micrognathia)
* Clenched fists with overlapping fingers
* Rocker-bottom feet
* Congenital heart defects
* Feeding and breathing difficulties
* Severe developmental delay and intellectual disability
Diagnosis :
The condition may be suspected during pregnancy by:
* Ultrasound scan
* Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT)
* Confirmed by:
* Chorionic villus sampling (CVS), or
* Amniocentesis with chromosome analysis
Treatment :
There is no cure for Edwards syndrome. Treatment focuses on:
* Managing heart or other organ problems
* Feeding support
* Respiratory support
* Palliative and supportive care to improve comfort and quality of life.
Prognosis :
Unfortunately, Edwards syndrome is a serious condition:
* Many affected pregnancies end in miscarriage or stillbirth.
* Among babies born alive, many do not survive beyond the first weeks or months of life, although a small number live longer with significant medical needs

Karen Wetterhahn was an American chemist. In 1996, while doing research, a few drops of dimethy|mercury accidentally fell on her glove.
At first, she felt completely normal. However, the chemical slowly entered her body and damaged her nervous system. About 5 months later, she began having trouble with balance, speech, and movement.
Doctors diagnosed severe mercury poisoning, but the damage was already extensive. She died in 1997, about 10 months after the accident.
Her tragic case taught scientists that some chemicals can be dangerous even in tiny amounts and led to stronger safety measures in laboratories worldwide.

The Moro reflex is an involuntary motor response typically seen in newborns. It is part of a group of primitive reflexes that originate in the central nervous system and are essential for early development. When a baby is triggered, usually by a loud sound, sudden movement, or a sensation of falling, the baby responds with a dramatic flinging out of the arms and legs, followed by drawing them back in, accompanied by crying. It is one of the earliest signs of a healthy nervous system in newborns.
The Moro reflex starts to develop while the baby is still in the womb, usually between 28-32 weeks of pregnancy and should be fully formed at birth.
The Moro reflex fades between 4 to 6 months of age, as the baby’s nervous system matures and gains better control over voluntary movements.

The stomatal pore opens and closes because the two guard cells around it change shape.

🌱 Stomata open: usually when there is enough water and light, allowing CO₂ to enter for photosynthesis.
🌙 Stomata close: when the plant loses too much water, such as during hot/dry conditions.
The movement happens because water enters or leaves the guard cells, changing their pressure (turgor), which makes them bend and open or close the pore.

A jet vaccine injector is a device that uses a high-pressure stream of liquid vaccine to deliver it through the skin without a needle. It was useful for quickly vaccinating large numbers of people. Its use declined because of concerns about cross-contamination and the development of safer, simpler injection methods. Jet injectors are still used today in some situations, but they are much less common than conventional needles and syringes.

CPR is not magic — it’s science, timing, and technique.
When the heart stops, the body doesn’t die instantly. The brain still has a small window where oxygen can keep it alive — and that’s exactly what CPR does.
By pushing hard and fast on the chest, you manually circulate blood to the brain and vital organs until advanced help arrives. It doesn’t guarantee survival, and it won’t ‘bring someone back from the dead’ — but it can buy the most important thing in an emergency: time.
This video is purely for demonstration and understanding of the technique. The body used here is already dead, so the goal is to learn the correct method, not to show revival.
In real life, knowing CPR can be the difference between standing helpless… and actually giving someone a chance to survive.
