We often come to recognise the value of a memory only after the moment has passed, when an entire lifetime of experience begins to recede into silence. Documentation becomes a way of holding on, allowing the fragments of experience to remain within reach.

In the third episode of FS Unplugged, our co-founder Meenakshi Dubey reflects on what she describes as the “Roman candle” of an idea that later revealed itself as a deeper lesson. What began as a day spent sitting with Nanaji and carefully documenting his memories gradually unfolded into a remarkable archive of lived wisdom, strengthening her belief in the work that Family Script continues to do today.

Tune in to hear how that experience shaped the conviction behind documenting lives with care and attention.

What an exhilarating six days at Bharat Mandapam!

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 was a marathon of innovation, and for the Family Script team, it served as a defining milestone. From day one to day six, we experienced an immense footfall that turned our booth into a vibrant hub for conversations at the intersection of heritage and technology.

The journey to this summit has been a collective effort rooted in mentorship and vision. We owe a massive debt of gratitude to Mr. Ravi Korukonda, whose constant support has been our foundation, right from the UI/UX design pitch competition in Hyderbad all the way to this AI Impact Summit 2026. It was equally inspiring to have Ms. Angel Bhati, Director (Higher Education), Director (TTE), Govt of NCT of Delhi, visit the stall to witness the impact of our hard work firsthand.

A standout moment of validation for our mission was the appreciation from Delhi Education Minister Mr. Ashish Sood, whose interest in our documentation reinforces the importance of preserving personal histories for the next generation. Throughout the week, the feedback from visionary startup founders, curious visitors, and global AI bigwigs was overwhelming. We are leaving the summit inspired, validated, and ready to take the next big leap in the world of AI storytelling.

Family Script is evolving and growing toward our vision of "democratising documentation," and we were thrilled to debut our digital version at the Memory Station. A huge thank you to the IGDTUW-Anveshan Foundation and the Departments of Education, Higher Education, and TTE (Govt of NCT of Delhi) for believing in our work and providing this platform.

The summit may have ended, but the momentum is just beginning. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a story, and helped make this week a landmark for Family Script!

At Family Script, we return to this phrase often: Deep Work. It anchors our conversations, informs our methodology, and shapes how we think about documentation.

Yet the term deserves clarity.

In this post, we reflect on what deep work means for us, from the undivided attention to the unspoken nuances that shape a finished archive.

Swipe to understand the discipline behind the narrative.

What you finally hold in your hands, be it the book, the film, or the archive, is only the visible surface. The production phase is where our rigour lives.
At Family Script, this stage is built on meticulous systems and intentional selections shaped through discussion, iteration, and review. We focus on how the visual storytelling will be received, read, and remembered in the future.

What parts of a finished work do you think people rarely see, but matter the most?

Behind every biographical or institutional project undertaken by Family Script lies months of research, deep listening, interviews, reflection and careful structuring.
The final book or film prepared at the end of this work is the culmination of many invisible processes: building trust, revisiting memory, verifying detail, and shaping narrative with responsibility.

Material memory lies at the heart of our work at Family Script. Through careful attention, we seek to understand the meanings imbued within these material forms: the lives they shaped, and the emotions they quietly absorbed. In giving these objects a narrative voice, we allow memory to extend into tactile and visual forms.

Sitting with memories of pre-Partition India, listening with care as a business history unfolds alongside pivotal moments in the nation’s past. These conversations remind us how micro and macro histories converge—and how much we inherit when we listen closely.

Oral history interviews are a space for the Family Script team to understand a life through a measured, intimate lens. But they also come with the responsibility of upholding the ethics of storytelling.
Our process centres on care, trust, and informed consent, always prioritising the integrity of the story and the boundaries of the narrator.
Here’s an insight into how we work, where ethics are second to none.

Meet the team behind Family Script: the people behind the process and the archive.

They say the strength of any story lies in the people who hold it.
At Family Script, every project is shaped by a team that listens closely, works with care, and pays attention to what others might miss.
