इस देश को डिजिटल रुप से सशक्त देश बनाने के लिये भारतीय सरकार द्वारा डिजिटल इंडिया अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। इस मुहिम का लक्ष्य कागजी कार्यवाही को घटाने के द्वारा भारतीय नागरिकों को इलेक्ट्रॉनिक सरकार की सेवा उपलब्ध कराने की है। ये बहुत ही प्रभावशाली और कार्यकुशल है जो बड़े स्तर पर समय और मानव श्रम की बचत करेगा। किसी भी जरुरी सूचना तक पहुँच के लिये तेज गति इंटरनेट नेटवर्क के साथ ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के लोगों से जुड़ने के लिये पहल की शुरुआत की गयी थी। .
