Our colleague Marta led the session on time-course RNA-seq with maSigPro, comparing gene expression patterns between conditions, and pathway analysis for non-model organisms. We used a real Cladonia lichen dataset and ran everything in OmicsBox, from dynamic gene clusters to enriched pathways.

New on the BioBam blog: a clear tutorial on differential expression analysis in OmicsBox. 🧬

edgeR and DESeq2 are the gold-standard tools for this step, but applying them usually means wrestling with R scripts and parameter files. Marta Benegas Coll shows how the same analyses run inside OmicsBox with a guided interface, flexible experimental designs (Simple, Paired, Multifactorial, and Interaction), and blocking factors for unwanted variability.

The results are fully interactive: a filterable table, volcano plots, MA plots, MDS plots, and heatmaps, connected directly to functional enrichment with Fisher's Exact Test and GSEA. From raw reads to enriched pathways in one place.
