It finds its way into the goals the organisation sets, the decisions it makes, what it rewards and what it considers worth pursuing.

A business plan can tell you WHAT to do. Not always WHY to do it.

Picture this: you’re following a strict workout routine for a year. Every rep tracked, every set on schedule. But you never asked yourself what is it for: Improve muscle mass? Build core strength? Drop body fat? You’re consistent. You’re just not sure toward what.

A business plan works the same way. It organizes targets, teams, budgets, timelines. But a precise plan is not the same as a consciously chosen destination.

Sometimes founders respond to uncertainty by producing a better plan.

The more difficult task is to pause and ask:

What are you building toward?

Planning helps an enterprise move.
Envisioning helps it choose where to go.

You have made decisions with incomplete information. Solved problems no one else could see. Carried payroll, people, promises and possibilities.

But there is a question that growth can postpone for years:

What are you building it toward?

Not the next revenue milestone.
Not the next office.
Not the next round of expansion.

Toward what kind of enterprise? Toward what kind of life? Toward what future that you consciously chose?

For the next few months, we will explore the questions beneath a founder’s plans.

Because an enterprise can grow quickly and still move without a chosen direction.

Every decision you make lands twice.

Once on the business, in whatever it produces

Once on your team, in who you were while you made it, and what they’re left to deal with after.

Most founders are completely fine with that, until they stop to ask what their unconsciousness is actually costing the business.

On our 27th Foundation Day, we stepped away from the usual celebrations to spend a morning at the Children of the World, Dwarka.
