Amen, Andy - although who said that change was bad? The only thing that is certain in life, “you’ve changed” is often used as a slight or slur, but as the modern day poet, Jay-Z, puts it: I didn’t work this hard to stay the same.

This time two-years ago I was living in Delhi. I’m now in Goa (any ideas where to next?). I was *very* happy to revisit Delhi (staying at the oh-so fab Andaz hotel —> more on this soon!) a city that, if I’m honest, made me cry with frustration over the years (if you’ve even lived, or even travelled there, you can understand)! Because often it’s not the place, the person, or the situation; it’s our reaction or relationship to it, that affects how we feel. What a difference a two-years makes 🙏

That, yonder river there, is the sun setting over the pop-up tented city that is The Kumbh Mela, Allahabad. Yesterday saw the Basant Panchami, the third main bathing day, and over 30-million pilgrims in attendance. A gathering of humanity like no other, I feel very (🙏)to have attended such an event (and at a time when it wasn’t *quite* as crowded). Because three is crowd; three-0-million is a country!

Feeling so, so lucky to have been able to attend my second Kumbh Mela in Allahabad: “The Greatest Gathering on Earth”
They say it’s a life changing experience, and my first Kumbh Mela, in 2013, truly was.. I moved to India six months later and it changed the course of my life forever. The most magical gathering of souls, the energy is palpable.
In this shot, a group of sadhus form an orderly line (something you *don’t see very often in India!) and wait to receive their breakfast. I’ve never seen so many shades of orange, revealing such idiosyncratic faces. I’d like to sit down with a cup of chai and get to know them all.
An expression of humanity unlike anything *I’ve* ever witnessed before. If you get the chance to visit (it’s on until 4th March 2019) I urge you: go!

No "New Year, new me". It's the same old me, just trying to be a bit of a better version of that. I'll try to actually stick to a meditation practice this year and simply must stop biting my nails. I'll also try to stop berating myself for not sticking to meditation practice (and for still biting my nails).

This picture was taken on New Year's day 2018. I might look calm and serene, but I can tell you that this year, 2019, I felt the calmest, the happiest, and the most content, that I have in many years. No hangover. No anxty guilt. No paranoia about the year ahead (ok, maybe a bit of that) but I felt happy and excited for the year to come. 2019: I'm ready for you 🌟

’s Chef Varoon Nair whips up this chocolatey treat that is good enough for pudding the most ardent of wellness traveller.

Recipe: It’s filled with cacao, banana, coconut milk, dates, peanut butter, with a sprinkling of homemade nutty granola, grated coconut, goji berries, more banana, and grated coconut. There’s normally strawberries, but they were out of season (so props for not buying imported)!
•
We’re completely obsessed by this spot, and it’s our favourite stopover for a healthy breakfast with sea views to match 💖
