Romance is Just not among peoples it can be with anything if you talk about a traveler his romance is with Nature, Place, People, Food where ever he goes. Obviously he /she looking to find better Romance or rather in his word we say’s explore better Romantic places…
So here we take you to one of the offbeat Romantic Place blessed with stunning beauty that is diverse and unique at the same time, Maharashtra enjoys mountainous reliefs, cliffs, waterfalls, forests and of course the tall and proud forts that speak of its glorious history. But there is one hidden treasure call Chikhaldara..

It was few years back I got the chance to visit a offbeat tourist place not much have been spoken about this place but believe me it’s a place worthwhile to see its CHIKALDHARA. It is located in Amaravati district of Vidarbha region. The only hill station in the Vidarbha region offers you an abundance of wildlife, viewpoints, lakes and waterfalls. It’s a place something to do with Indian mythology Place is named after "Keechaka". This is the place where Bheema killed villainous Keechaka and threw him into the valley. It thus came to be known as "Keechakadara" - "Chikhaldara" is its corruption.
It’s a place with abundance beauty hidden treasure of flora and fauna magnificent waterfall and gushing water and a sudden velvet mist around makes the place where Romance bloom.
What’s so good about this, you may ask. There are of course plenty of other mountain resorts elsewhere in Maharashtra. There are two main reasons that makes Chikhaldara unique – very few tourists visit this place, and so, you’ll even now, get all the peace and solitude you want, and second, it’s the only place in the state where you’ll find coffee plantations.
There’s certainly something magical about coffee plantations, the aroma of coffee pumps up Romance in you. If you’ve been to one such place, you’ll know. Coffee trees are low lying. They hug the grown below. But all over, you will find tall trees that make the entire place a green paradise.

Places of interest
Places of interest in and around Chikhaldara are the Melghat Tiger Project, Dhakana-Kolkaz National Park, Hurricane Point, Prospect Point, Devi Point, Gavilgad and Narnala Fort, the Pandit Nehru Botanical Gardens, the Tribal Museum and the Semadoh Lake.
The Melghat Tiger Project has 82 tigers, other animals like panthers, sloth bears, sambar, wild bear, and wild dogs.
The scenic beauty of the misty mountains with rich variety of flora could be observed from Hurricane Point, Prospect Point, and Devi Point.1
Excursions to Gavilgad and Narnala Fort are also memorable ones. The mystery of nature unfolds itself in every twists and turns of the hilly way.

History of The Taj Mahal: The Crown Jewel Of India

One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal is India‘s pride. Built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz, it is a truly fine piece of architecture. Ironically, it stands so immensely that calling it a piece of architecture is actually an insult. This structure is a symbol of love, and rightly so. While there are discrepancies in its history, on how true Shah Jahan’s love for Mumtaz really was, in the 21st century we have the liberty of ignoring the controversies and just gazing at this work of pure art.

With three red stone walls making borders on three sides, this UNESCO World Heritage Site has the river Yamuna on its fourth side, making it look like a sight out of a fairy tale. The best time to visit the monument is from November to February, because the climate is neither rainy nor unbearably hot. Nevertheless, tourists throng the destination in all seasons. The famous monument is situated in the city of Agra, which is well-connected by rail.

It’s laid out among beautiful gardens that seem to only enhance the timelessness of the monument. They are laid out symmetrically, starting from the main gateway all the way up to the mausoleum. They are called the charbagh, or the four-way gardens, with two main walkways. Each of these four paths then leads to four more, creating sixteen such paths/squares around the monument. A central canal passes through these walkways. One particular bench by the main gate of the Taj is on a raised platform, said to provide the best angle from which to take a picture. It’s also called the ‘Diana bench’ by locals, after Princess Diana took an iconic picture there on her visit to India!

History
Commissioned to be built in the year 1632 by Shah Jahan by his favourite river, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is built around his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal’s tomb. Spread across 42 acres, the area also has a guest house and mosque apart from formal gardens. The Taj Mahal’s main construction was completed in the year 1643. In the year 1983, UNESCO gave it the designation of a World Heritage Site. The Taj Mahal is one of the most admired of the World Heritage Sites. The main architect of this beautiful structure is said to be Ustad Ahmad Lahouri, who is also credited with the design of the famous Red Fort of Delhi.

The height of the dome is 73 meters, and the entire Mahal is made of pristine, white marble. With time, and due to pollution, the colour had started to change. However, restoration work is ongoing, and the maintenance of the structure is given utmost importance. The work, craftsmanship, and artisanry that is visible on the walls of the Taj Mahal are spellbinding.

For something this grand and famous, the Taj Mahal has its share of stories and rumours. One gruesome story that has been passed down over generations is that the hands of the architect and his workers were cut off so that they could never replicate another structure of this kind. While the monument was built for the sake of love, such a gruesome story of cruelty is also associated with it.

All across the mausoleum, semi-precious stones including lapis lazuli, amethyst, turquoise, crystal, etc. were laid in intricate designs. Four slender minarets stand on four sides of the dome, adding to its vastness.
In the year 2000, the famous magician P. C. Sorcar, Jr. made the Taj Mahal vanish briefly. But there is no reason to panic, the Taj is right where it was. One spectacular fact about the Taj that is not known to many is that it changes colour depending on the natural light. It looks pinkish in the morning light, milky white in the evening, while it seems golden under the moonlit sky.

After Shah Jahan had built the Taj Mahal for his favourite wife’s tomb, he started building another one across the river. This one was going to be black, and he planned for it to be his final resting place. However, it is said that his son Aurangzeb had other plans, so the black Taj Mahal was never completed.

Irrespective of the season, the monument is always flocked by visitors. On any given day, at least 12,000 visitors come to see the Taj. Open from 6 am to 7 pm (except on Fridays, for prayers), the Taj Mahal is also open to limited visitors for moonlight viewing on specific days. The three entry gates are at the south, east and west sides, with the gate on the west being the main entrance gate. The iconic entrance gate’s inscription reads ‘O Soul, thou art at rest. Return to the Lord at peace with Him, and He at peace with you.’
