I used to think 'wishing' was enough. I'd dream big, hope for the best, and then wonder why nothing changed.
Here's what I learned...
For years, I believed that if I just wished hard enough, things would happen. I'd visualize success, but without concrete action, it remained just that – a vision.
The reframe came when I realized wishing is passive, while goal-setting is active. Wishing is about desire; goal-setting is about decision and dedication.
It's not that wishes are bad; they're the spark. But a spark needs fuel and a controlled environment to become a fire. That's what a well-defined goal provides.
I used to tell myself, "I wish I had more clients." Now, I say, "I will acquire 5 new clients this quarter by implementing X, Y, and Z strategies."
This shift from passive wishing to active goal-setting changed everything. It gave me direction, accountability, and a way to measure progress.
The biggest mistake? Believing that wishing for something is the same as working for it. It's not. One is a dream, the other is a plan.
Myth: Positive thinking alone will manifest your desires. Truth: Positive thinking combined with strategic action manifests your desires.
Micro-action: Identify one area where you've been wishing. Now, write down one concrete action you can take TODAY to move it from wish to goal.
