Everyone is trying to look more impressive.
Lately, I’ve been more interested in the behaviours that make someone quietly unforgettable.
The people with real executive presence are rarely the loudest, trendiest, or most performative person in the room.
They tend to be deliberate. Composed. Respectful. Generous.
That kind of presence doesn’t come from a wardrobe alone. It comes from how you communicate, how you treat people, how you handle disagreement, and what you choose to contribute.
A few reminders I keep coming back to:
• Style is a strategy, not a performance.
• The strongest communicators can challenge ideas without diminishing people.
• Volume can command a room; clarity can lead one.
• Confidence attracts. Ego interrupts.
• Good manners are not reserved for important people.
• Generosity is a better networking strategy than self-promotion.
The most elegant form of influence is not how much attention you attract. It is how much value you leave behind.

People often ask me:
“Do I still need to wear formals?”
“Do people still wear ties?”
“Hasn’t the workplace become more casual?”

They’re asking the wrong question.

The question isn’t whether a suit, tie, blazer, jeans or sneakers are right or wrong.

The question is, “What message are you trying to send?”
Want to project authority?
Dress slightly more formally than the people around you.

Want to be relatable?
Dress the way your audience dresses.

Want to build credibility?
Dress like you take yourself, and the situation, seriously.

If everyone is in shorts and T-shirts, authority doesn’t necessarily mean wearing a business suit. It may simply mean being one step more polished than everyone else. If everyone is in shirts and trousers, adding a jacket may be enough.

Stop fighting the dress code.
Stop trying to decode the dress code.
Stop asking why appearance should matter.
Stop asking, “Why should I?”

The reality is that people form impressions before you speak.

The question isn’t whether clothing communicates. The question is whether you’re controlling the message.

Dress codes are the wrong conversation.
The conversation needs to be about perception.

Meet Zari ✨
Full name: Zari Sitara.

Named after the golden thread that makes fabric truly special and invaluable… because somehow, in just one week, she’s already become the thread weaving our little family even closer together. 💛

We thought we were bringing home a cute little puppy.
Turns out she’s actually:

50% golden potato
30% velociraptor
20% chaos
100% loved 🐾

A surprising number of authority signals in professional dressing come from small details.

Sleeves.
Collars.
Fabric structure.
Footwear.

It’s about how the brain reads structure, preparation, and hierarchy.

Because in professional environments, perception happens in seconds.

Not morality.
Just psychology.

I recently wrote a deeper piece on the psychology behind this.
If you’d like the article, comment “ARTICLE” and I’ll share it.

Parliament has quietly become a runway of intent. And I am loving it.

Not for fashion, but for what these images reveal about power, hierarchy, restraint, rebellion, and alignment with the institution.

As someone who works with leaders on presence and perception, I study photographs of Parliamentarians entering the House the way stylists examine award-season arrivals. In spaces like this, appearance stops being personal. Clothing becomes positional.

Every silhouette, colour choice, repetition, and restraint signals how seriously a leader understands their role

This carousel decodes what is often read subconsciously but rarely discussed openly.
Because in positions of responsibility, image is never neutral.
