🚢 PSC CIC 2026 – Cargo Securing: Is Your Vessel Ready?

The upcoming Port State Control Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Cargo Securing, scheduled from September to November 2026, will place greater emphasis on shipboard compliance, cargo securing arrangements, and crew competence.

PSCOs may look beyond documentation. Masters, Chief Officers and deck personnel should be ready to explain and demonstrate their vessel’s cargo stowage and securing arrangements.

🔍 Key CIC Readiness Areas
⚓ Cargo planning, stowage & securing
📘 Cargo Securing Manual (CSM) familiarisation
🔗 Lashing & securing equipment condition
🛠️ Inspection, maintenance & replacement records
📋 Lashing plans & operational limitations
🌊 Heavy-weather precautions
👨‍✈️ Crew knowledge & competency
✅ Practical demonstration of onboard procedures
🛡️ STAG Marine – ASSESS | TRAIN | VERIFY

1️⃣ ASSESS – iAudix
Conduct a structured Cargo Securing CIC Readiness Assessment to identify gaps, capture photographic evidence, assign corrective actions and monitor closure through a digital, traceable platform.

2️⃣ TRAIN – iSkill LMS
Strengthen crew competency through our dedicated Cargo Securing Training Course, covering SOLAS, CSS Code, CSM familiarisation, lashing equipment, inspection requirements, heavy-weather precautions and practical PSC readiness.

🎓 Competency assessment + individual training certificate

3️⃣ VERIFY – Cargo Securing Manual

Review and/or prepare the vessel-specific Cargo Securing Manual and verify alignment with applicable statutory and vessel-specific requirements.

🔗 ONE INTEGRATED SOLUTION
iAudix → Assess & identify gaps
iSkill → Train & assess crew competence
STAG Marine → Review & verify the CSM

The objective is simple:
Don't just prepare for the CIC — be ready to demonstrate compliance, corrective action and crew competence.

With the CIC commencing in September 2026, fleet-wide preparation should begin now.

PORT HEDLAND SRP: IS YOUR VESSEL PREPARED?

With the Port of Port Hedland Salvage Response Plan (SRP) requirements now applicable, vessels above 120,000 DWT are required, from 1 August 2026, to have ship-specific salvage preparedness arrangements in place prior to arrival at Port Hedland.

To support shipowners and managers, STAG Marine offers a complete Port Hedland Salvage Preparedness Package combining ship-specific documentation, crew training and operational readiness.

🔹 Ship-Specific Salvage Preparedness Plan

Prepared individually for each vessel, covering:
* Vessel particulars and critical technical information
* Emergency towing arrangements, strong points & SWLs
* Machinery, propulsion & emergency steering
* Stability, damage control, ballast & bunker information
* Emergency contacts and escalation arrangements
* Grounding, collision, blackout, flooding, fire and propulsion/steering failure scenarios
* Interface with Pilbara Ports, pilots, tugs and professional salvors
* Emergency response flowcharts and practical onboard checklists

🔹 Port Hedland Salvage Preparedness Training – iSkill LMS

Our dedicated online course covers:
* Port Hedland SRP requirements
* Roles and responsibilities during a casualty
* Emergency towing and salvage preparedness
* Immediate actions following grounding or loss of propulsion/steering
* Incident stabilisation and pollution prevention
* Communication and escalation procedures
* Interaction with Port Authorities, pilots, tugs and professional salvors
* Practical casualty scenarios and response expectations

The training can be completed remotely, with online assessment and individual certification through the iSkill LMS.

One Package. Plan + Training + Readiness.

Our objective is not simply to provide another manual onboard. We aim to ensure that the Master understands the plan, officers know their responsibilities, and ship and shore teams are prepared to respond immediately should a casualty occur.

STAG Marine can support individual vessels or complete fleets with upcoming Port Hedland calls.

📩 To discuss your requirements, please share your vessel particulars and expected Port Hedland ETA with:

[email protected]

Stay prepared. Stay compliant. Be ready before the casualty happens.
