Photo Walk #1: India Gate & Rashtrapati Bhavan. A cold, foggy January winter morning. The weather app predicted clear skies and a bright sun, but like how it happens, it got proved wrong. Shivering cold due to windy morning, and completely shrouded in fog, and we were not sure about getting nice photos. But yet we persisted.

But a photographer is a problem solver, we see opportunities in every situation.

What an interesting way to find my photo being used in an advertisement by Govt of India.

I was looking for directions on Google Maps and used the 'street view' to navigate the roads of Faridabad. And suddenly I see this hoarding by GoI under a flyover, celebrating the '75 years of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. And it has a photo of India Gate, that was clicked by me.

See the first image below, thats a screenshot from Google Maps street view. The centre pic is that of India Gate.

And see the other image below, that's the same photo on my hard drive.

We even encountered wild horses on the trek to Goeche La, almost at a height of 16,000 feet. So exciting to be amidst nature, maintains and some wild horses.

Small streams like this flow down from the Kanchenjunga mountain range to fill water into the Samiti lake. An amazing serene place that is reached after trekking 5-6 days and reaching a height of almost 16,000 feet.

Here is to the adventurer in you. This is the reflection of the Himalaya mountain range I the calm waters of Lake Samiti, at the very end of the Goecha La trek to the Kanchenjunga base camp in Sikkim, India. It's an absolutely amazing, out of this world place, almost in the middle of nowhere. A perfect place to be one with nature.
