Our questions determine the results we achieve.
The more positive our question, the more it will create the possible!

With that objective, we recently conducted a workshop on "Power of Appreciative Inquiry".

Using the following simple 4D Model, the participants looked within and engaged in appreciating and valuing the best of "What Is" by gathering information and stories about what is working well and envisioning "What Might Be".

Participants appreciated and felt that the overuse of "problem solving" hampered social improvement, and what was needed were new methods of inquiry that would help generate new ideas and models for how to organize and move to determining "What Should Be" before one could Deliver and Innovate "What Will Be".

AI has revolutionized the field of organization development and is a precursor to the rise of positive organization studies and the strengths based movement in management.

The aim is to build – or rebuild – organizations around what works, rather than trying to fix what doesn't.

What is a Competency Matrix and how do you create one?

A competency skills matrix is a framework used to map employees' skills and their levels. It's a grid that contains information about available skill and their evaluation. It is used to manage, plan, and monitor existing and desired skills for a role, team, department, project, or an entire company.

Competency Management In 5 Steps:

1. List the relevant skills for your organization, team or project.

2. Define what those key competencies mean in practice and setup different levels of knowledge and skills per competency.

3. Assess team members on their current skill levels, determine their interest and incorporate all information in the skills matrix

4. Discuss three to five possible competencies they want to improve in the following months.

5. Create a joint plan for improving competencies & use the PDCA approach to monitor and make progress.

So what is the 9 box tool?

The 9 box grid is a well-known talent management tool in which employees are divided into nine groups, based on their performance and potential.

When assessing employee performance, managers often pay attention to two things. First, how well they perform today, and second, how well they are likely to perform in the future (i.e. their growth potential).

The 9-box grid provides a talent framework that helps to manage all employees in an organization.

It is used for performance management, calibration, productivity, optimization, identification of hi-potential and as a �succession planning tool and many others !
