7 Day Hands on Workshop with Bamboo at Wisdom Center, Umdihar, Ri Bhoi Dist, Meghalaya. Dates 1-7 March 2020

Eligibility –
Participants should know English. He/ she must be smart and open to grasp the ideas shared by the resource persons. Must be to share his/ her experiences. Open to learning by doing, however hard or easy it maybe.
People with Architecture, civil engineering, carpentry and other walks of life are most welcome.

1. Bamboo structures using Mud and Bamboo Crete, Lime and Bamboo Crete, Adobe Bricks etc.
2. Bamboo Furniture with basic joinery.

Ms. Eureka Khong is an architect, currently involved with Project Potential (Bihar), where she co-founded the vision for eArthshala - a space for rural youth to explore sustainable living and be involved in creative and transformational experiences in an environment free from judgement. In collaboration with leading architectural firms, eArthshala (under construction) demonstrates the use of bamboo and mud as sustainable, energy efficient construction materials. The process of campus creation involves local skill building, including motivating rural women to choose adobe bricks making as a livelihood option. .
Ms. Neha Bhusri is an architect living in Delhi.
Six years working in the design industry. Creative ideation and conceptualisation being her forte, strong hand sketching as well as software skills. Keen interest in exploring the confluence of sustainability and technology in today’s design practices. A design professional, possessing a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur, India, a Post Graduate Diploma in Interior Design and Styling from Pearl Academy, Mumbai, India along with specialisation in exhibition and set design from Domus Academy, Milan, Italy.
Mr. Balachandran C from Mysore has practiced Industrial Architecture in many South East Asian countries with various governments and private companies. He is the convener of ‘Bamboo Dairies’, an organization that believes Bamboo as a material of the future that addresses the various human needs in a sustainable way. As a Nature lover, he balances the Social, Economic and Ecological Dimensions in his work effectively.
Mr. Richard Bello(tentative) is a true Angami Naga from Kohima. An Architect/ trainer/ guide to the youth of Nagaland. He has many years of working experience, with Bamboo, up his sleeves. Talks with authority on topics related to Environment, Bamboo and Structures.
Mr. Ajit Hoabom a Manipuri, is one of the first in India to make the Bamboo Bicycle with Bamboo Mud Guard. People worldwide are using his Bamboo Bicycle.
Mr. Dreamland Khongjoh, a very unassuming Khasi young man who started building bamboo structures 15 yrs ago. He is a real workhorse who never seems to tire. He does not speak any language except his own Khasi with has a short working vocabulary of Hindi
Mr. Ghani Zaman lives in Kolkata, travels a lot. He is basically a trainer in Bamboo & motivator on anything with bamboo and a professional photographer. He has been instrumental in making many young architects shift from concrete and steel to Bamboo. He has managed to create awareness and confuse many well established hard core architects and civil engineers with his discussion on Bamboo. He is either loved or hated by them.
