We've been quiet for a few weeks. Assam's floods asked more of us than posting did, so we stepped back.
But the water didn't leave without something to say.
Every monsoon its the same story. the dams, the felled trees, the missing policy. All true. All worth saying, loudly, to the right people.
What we don't ask as often: what did we put into this?
Five plastic packets from one market trip.
Styrofoam at every wedding, because it's light on the pocket.
A bottle bought and binned within the hour.
None of it disappears. It collects in drains, in vats already past capacity. And when the rain comes, it isn't just water rising it's water with nowhere to go, because we sealed the exits ourselves.
This isn't a solution.
Something more constant needs to be done by you, me and us.
