Indian madder, or Rubia cordifolia, and Dyer's madder, or Rubia tinctorum, are the two varieties of madder that we have. We also have an extract available called Madder Rich. Nevertheless, madder extract fastness is inferior to other natural dyes. Among the oldest known dyes is madder. Turkey reds, mulberry, orange-red, and terracotta are among the products made from it. Madder can produce crimson, purple, rust, brown, and almost black colors when combined with other dyes. All over India, Southeast Asia, Turkey, Europe, South China, portions of Africa, Australia, and Japan, madder is grown. Madder is an intricate dye that has numerous coloring agents. One can achieve a variety of shades by adjusting the temperature, pH, and mordanting. There are numerous old recipes, one of which is from Turkey and extracts the purpurin from madder to produce

This powder is made by steeping Acacia catechu tree wood in hot water until a syrupy liquid is produced. After drying, this is ground into a powder. Most of India, Burma, Indonesia, and Peru share it. Indian cutch is the most exquisite by far. It's a good source of clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon—colorfast shades of brown. Categochu, a dye compound, and tannin are both present in cutch extract. It dissolves readily in water. Cutch offers superior lightfastness and lightness. To achieve a medium depth of shade, our latest batch of cutch needs to be dyed with 15-30% WOF.

An extract known as natural indigo powder is made from the plant Indigofera tinctoria, which is grown specifically for this use. The most successful dye plant ever discovered, indigo is the fabled source of colorfast blues due to its abundance of shades. Although it grows everywhere, indogo thrives in warm, humid climates. Clear blues ranging from the shade of a light sky to a deep navy that nearly looks black can be produced with indigo. Our indigo is extremely strong (about 40% indigotin) and comes from a farm in south India. It's gorgeous reduced in an indigo vat.

Marigold: The dried and ground flower heads of the Tagetes species are used to make this dye. Rich, vivid yellows, green-yellows, and oranges are produced, along with 20–30% dried marigold to wof. Worldwide, marigolds are grown for their decorative flowers, religious festivals, and colorant. Moderate lightness and washfastness characterize marigold.
