International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples
SNRMCD works for conservation of knowledge, cultures and traditions of indigenous communities and conservation of their habitat. The three women are from Karbi tribe of Assam and the community with whom PRA is being conducted belong to Pochury Naga tribe.

Greetings to everybody on International Tiger Day. SNRMCD has worked for forest and biodiversity conservation in Rajaji National Park, Corbett NP, Dudhwa NP, Katarniaghat WLS, Sunderban Biosphere Reserve and National Park, Kaziranga NP, Manas NP, Keoladeo Ghana NP, Nanda Devi NP. Message from our President Mr. Debasish De on International Tiger Day..........................

India is now a safer shelter for Royal Bengal Tigers. The number of tigers not only increased in the last decade, but also prove India's responsibility towards protection of tigers....a global ambassador and the national animal of India.

Though Madhya Pradesh topped in the list with 785 tiger population, second and 3rd position go to Karnataka and Uttarakhand with 563 and 560 tigers. West Bengal is way behind this with only 106 number which is concentrated only in Sundarbans.

Tiger is truly a majestic beast which can adopt any weather condition, landscape or food habit. They are in pasture land in Rajaji NP, Dudhwa NP, deltaic salt water estuary as in Sundarban, deep forest as in Bandipur and Nagarhole NP or in snow covered areas of Siberia. He is a majestic fighter and self-sustained entity. He is the beast which attracts complete reverence from other animals and human beings too.

Today is global tiger day. Let us take pledge to protect this awesome animal for the future of us, the forests and the planet.

Assam faced another devastating flood this year. Charaideo is one of the worst affected districts. SNRNCD has worked in villages of Charaideo district for 3 years for awareness and implementation of Assam Jal Jeevan Mission. We stand beside the people of Charaideo in this disaster time and hope situation improves quickly.

SNRMCD conducted Gaon Sabha Meeting for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Tezpur, Assam. We ensured participation of women in the Meetings. We trained Women SHGs to test quality of drinking water using FTK.
