BLUE OCEAN CONSULTANTS
Mission:
Blue Ocean Consultants is a first generation young organization, driven by the mission for “creating uncontested market space for healthcare organizers and providers and making competition irrelevant”. Vision:
Long term Vision of Blue Ocean Consultants (BOC) is “Don’t compete, make competition irrelevant”. Birth of Blue Ocean Consultants:
The idea was conceived in t

he year 2004 by its founder Dr. Ashish K. Gupta when he was pursuing Masters in Business Administration, with Healthcare Administration as the major subject, from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, India. Healthcare industry in India was by and large loosely regulated and there were no definitive quality standards for the healthcare organizers and providers. Private sector in healthcare had started growing and demand for quality healthcare had just started to grow exponentially with evolving healthcare customers. The best seller for the year ‘Blue Ocean Strategy’, a book by Harvard Business School Press Boston Massachusetts, talked about creating uncontested market spaces by applying innovative strategies. This had tremendous influence on the Dr. Ashish, the founder chairman of BOC. The organization works on the following premise. Healthcare providers and organizers have long engaged in head to head competition in search of sustained, continuous and profitable growth. They fight for competitive advantage, battle over market share and struggle for differentiation. Yet in today’s overcrowded healthcare markets, competing head on results in nothing but a bloody ‘red ocean’ of rivals fighting over a shrinking profit pool. While most healthcare organizations compete in such red oceans, this strategy is increasingly unlikely to create profitable growth in the future. Tomorrow’s leading healthcare provider organizations will succeed not by battling competitors, but by creating ‘blue oceans’ of uncontested market space ripe for growth. Such strategic moves- termed as ‘value innovation’- create powerful leaps in value for both the healthcare provider and its customers, rendering rivals obsolete and unleashing new demand. BOC provides a systematic approach and solutions to making competition irrelevant. The strategies are innovative, simple and practical. The framework provides tools for successfully creating and capturing blue oceans. The six principles that are focused on are:
1. Reconstruct market boundaries
2. Focus on the big picture, not the numbers
3. Reach beyond existing demand
4. Get the strategic sequence right
5. Overcome key organizational hurdles
6. End to End strategy implementation
Blue Ocean Consultants has since grown slowly, steadily and in a sustained manner, building on firm blocks of the values of honesty, transparency and trust that it holds so close to its heart. 'Two Flirts' by Norman Rockwell - 1941

29/03/2025

Born in 1864, died in 1943—forgotten by the world, left to languish in a mental hospital.
What was her story?
She came to Paris to study art at a time when the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts was open only to men.
Undeterred, she joined studios that welcomed women.
There, she met and became the lover of the celebrated sculptor Auguste Rodin.
Their relationship was one of fiery passion and shared artistry—they created side by side, their collaborative genius preserved in works housed today in the Rodin Museum and Musée d’Orsay.
But Rodin, already entangled in a long-standing relationship with another woman, eventually left Camille.
As his reputation soared, hers plummeted.
She was scorned, shunned, and dismissed—not just as a lover but as an artist. Alone, distrusting, and out of favor, she struggled to sell her works.
Adding to her isolation, her brother, the renowned poet and diplomat Paul Claudel, played a pivotal role in her downfall. Camille, seen as "too modern" and a source of familial shame, was forcibly institutionalized by her family.
For 30 years, she fought to explain the injustice of her confinement, writing anguished letters to friends and family, pleading for release. Her clarity and heartbreak resonate in these preserved writings.
On October 19, 1943, Camille Claudel died of malnutrition in a French hospital.
No family members attended her funeral, and her body was buried in a common grave.
Decades later, the world has finally recognized her brilliance. Her legacy has been restored: her sculptures now stand proudly beside Rodin’s, and a museum near Paris is dedicated entirely to her work.
Camille Claudel is no longer forgotten. She is honored as the visionary she always was.
