📍Geoeye-1, part of the WorldView satellite constellation, was launched on September 6, 2008. It is owned and operated by Maxar.
📍A low orbit, sun-synchronous satellite, initially flying at a height of 681 km above the earth. Later in 2013, it was raised to 770 km.
📍GeoEye-1 was designed to carry out large projects, as it covers 3,50,000 sq. km. with a revisit time of fewer than three days at any location on earth depending upon the altitude and inclination of the point.
📍It can provide 0.41m of panchromatic (Black and White) and 1.86m of a multispectral image (colour). It can also provide pan-sharpened images.
📍A polar-orbiting satellite, GeoEye-1 will make 12 to 13 orbits per day while flying at an altitude of 681 kilometres with an orbital velocity of about 7.5 km/sec or 17,000 mi/hr.
