On Saturday, April 11th 2015, we did our monthly Rajpur clean-up, which takes place on the second Saturday of every month. We were joined by 10 boys from the Moravian Institute and their teacher, as well as members of the Rajpur Community Initiative. Everyone was very enthusiastic and encouraging, which made the clean-up fun and efficient. After only a few hours, we managed to collect 27 kg of recyclables (approx. 4 bags), and 33 kg of non-recyclables (approx. 5 bags).

We cleaned the area up in preparation for the 1st Rajpur Nature Film Festival, which is taking place in the CSOI-Rajpur, Dehradun from April 16-18th 2015.

The festival is organized by the Rajpur Community Initiative. It aims to celebrate the natural biodiversity of Dehradun and throw light on the significance and vulnerability of Rajpur as one of the last remaining green belts of the city.

The films shown during the festival will be exploring themes related to Uttarakhand, such as nature, human-wildlife conflict, river ecosystems and environmentally responsive urban planning.
