हिंदू धर्म में गुरु पूर्णिमा का बहुत महत्व है। शास्त्र के अनुसार इसी दिन महर्षि वेदव्यास का जन्म हुआ था। कई जगहों पर इसे आषाढ़ी पूर्णिमा भी कहते है। इस बार #गुरु_पूर्णिमा का व्रत 13 जुलाई यानी कल रखा जाएगा। हिंदू धर्म में गुरुओं को देवता से भी ऊंचा दर्जा दिया गया है, इसलिए यह दिन भारतीयों के लिए बहुत खास होता है। गुरु पूर्णिमा के दिन लोग महर्षि वेदव्यास जी की पूजा करके अपने गुरुजनों का भी आशीर्वाद लेते हैं। ऐसा कहा जाता हैं, कि इस दिन गुरुओं की पूजा करने से उनकी विशेष कृपा प्राप्त होती है।
कथा के अनुसार #महर्षि #वेदव्यास जी को भगवान विष्णु का अंश माना गया है। वेदव्यास जी की माता का नाम सत्यवती और पिता का नाम ऋषि पराशर था। महर्षि वेदव्यास जी को बचपन से ही अध्यात्म में बहुत रुचि थी। एक बार उन्होंने अपने माता-पिता से प्रभु के दर्शन करने की इच्छा प्रकट की और वन में तपस्या करने की अनुमति मांगी। वेदव्यास जी की इस बात को सुनकर उनकी माता ने उन्हें वन जाने को मना कर दिया।
वन में जाकर वेदव्यास जी कठोर तपस्या करने लगें। भगवान के आशीर्वाद से वेदव्यास जी को संस्कृत भाषा का ज्ञान हो गया। इसके बाद उन्होंने वेद, महाभारत 18 महापुराणों एवं ब्रह्म सूत्र की रचना की। लोगों वेदों का ज्ञान देने की वजह से आज भी इन्हें गुरु पूर्णिमा के दिन प्रथम गुरु के रूप में याद किया जाता है।
