Doctor Appointment Fraud Alert (fraud/scam attempt)
Share purely for safety awareness.
I am traveling to Bikaner for my mother’s medical check-up and searched online for a doctor’s contact number. After calling the number I found on Google, the call was first forwarded to another number and then redirected back to me. The person I spoke with asked me to transfer ₹10 to confirm an appointment but attempted to divert the payment to his own account.
He also sent me a suspicious URL and instructed me to install an application named “Appointment Booking.” After installation, the app did not appear on my phone but continued running in the background. It began displaying notifications and sending messages from various unfamiliar mobile numbers while attempting to access my phone data.
This activity clearly reflects a fraudulent scheme designed to deceive and exploit patients seeking medical appointments.
I have given below an application snapshot.
Safety tip
Always verify doctor contact numbers from official hospital websites or trusted healthcare apps. Avoid relying on random Google search results without checking authenticity.
