Yesterday was one of those days that reminded us why we started Women in the Hood in the first place.

In one room, mothers and kids were painting tote bags, laughing over little things, helping each other pick colours, and genuinely taking a moment for themselves.

In another room, women were sitting with magazines, scissors, glue sticks, and big dreams, trying to put the life they want onto a vision board.

And somewhere between all of that, strangers became comfortable, conversations became honest, and the room started feeling lighter.

It was never just about tote bag painting or vision boarding. It was about giving women a space which they wanted their mothers, children and sisters to experience too.
