Experiencing Ghasyari is about much more than staying in a homestay, it is about slowing down and experiencing rural life through its people, food, culture and everyday rhythms.

From breathwork and reflection, farm experiences and village walks to time spent with the Ghasyari women, local food, high tea in the fields, cultural evenings and conversations around the fire experiences like these allow you to engage with the village in a much deeper way.

Such rooted experiences are possible through meaningful collaboration, the strong leadership of Women in the Hood, Udhyam’s strong on-ground implementation support and putting the experience together and at the heart of it all, the Ghasyari women bringing it alive through their warmth and hospitality.

ROOTED 2.0 — 4 days in the mountains that felt like coming home to a lot more of ourselves!!

The First Hellos - Meeting your tribe for the first time; we started leaving the noise behind instantly.

Our first meal together: sumptuous in conversations!!

Traditional Welcome at Sunkiya. Kumaoni traditions, mountain air and a very different kind of hospitality.

Tea time goodness : rooted in simplicity.

A little something waiting for every participant- small packets comforts and Joy. 🤩

Once in our cozy rooms, the retreat had already begun.

We were taken care of in the simplest, most beautiful ways. Meals made with love, local flavours and women who kept feeding us long after we said we couldn’t eat anymore. And we did eat some more. 😍

Meditation & Breathwork in the mountains hits a little differently.

Guided self-discovery and inner work. Some conversations were with the group. Some were just with ourselves.

But we had our tribe cheering us on - every moment.

Then came the fields. No metaphors needed. Just hands in the soil and work to be done.

An afternoon spent working alongside the women of the village.

There were smiles of satisfaction all along.

And ofcourse ROOTED wasn’t just about meditation the way we imagine it - 🧘‍♀️. something about working with your hands that brings you back to yourself.

And then we gathered around the fire- to acknowledge what we had uncovered, released and carried forward.

There were chai breaks that became conversations. Conversations that became stories.

There was singing & cheering - loudly, freely and occasionally even badly.

There was an unreasonable(well, we aren’t complaining at all) amount of laughing.

AND there was dancing. Coz four days in the mountains deserve a little madness too.

We are beginning the auspicious nine days of Navratri with “HER INNER FIRE”

Her Inner Fire is an invitation to reconnect with that inner spark. This isn’t about becoming a different you but noticing what already lives within you.

We shall together, the different energies we carry as women — the ones that need nurturing, the ones that need releasing, and the ones that are ready to be awakened.

Sometimes, all you want is someone to sit across from you and say,
“Haan, batao. Main sun rahi hoon.”

And so we created Baat Cheet — 70 minutes to listen and be heard.
12 women.
6 secret matches.
35 minutes to talk.
35 minutes to listen.

No networking. No fixing. No advice unless it’s welcome.
Just two women, a little coffee, a little courage, and a conversation that perhaps needed to happen.

Baat Cheet is a reminder of something simple:
Sometimes, it really is easier to tell a stranger.
And sometimes, what we need most isn’t an answer.
It’s to finally hear ourselves say it out loud.

काश कोई मेरी सुने.

Turns out, someone will. ❤️

We came to rant.
Things escalated. 😂

There was ranting.
There was laughing.
There was a Petty Liberation Auction.
There may have been some very specific grievances.

And somewhere in all of it, everyone who attended left a little lighter.

Bhaaad Mein Jaao.
