Wholesale price inflation remained elevated across several manufacturing sectors in July 2026.

In July, WPI inflation stood at:

• 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀 & 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀: 13.12%
• 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀: 12.80%
• 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀: 12.56%
• 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 12.34%
• 𝗥𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿 & 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀: 10.38%

At OfBusiness Group, we are committed to supporting initiatives that help people gain practical skills and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.

As part of our CSR efforts, we collaborated with Rotary Club of Mumbai Mulund East and Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup for a Sewing Machine Operator training program.

Earlier this year, the program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony for the successful participants. Along with their certificates, each beneficiary received a sewing kit to support them as they begin using the skills gained through the program.

We are glad to support initiatives that give people practical skills and the resources to put those skills to use.

UK-India FTA Could Unlock New Opportunities for India's Apparel Industry

The UK-India FTA is expected to improve the competitiveness of Indian textile exports, with apparel and home textiles expected to benefit the most.

Some key highlights from the report:

▪️The UK is India's third-largest textile export destination, accounting for nearly 6.1% of India's total textile exports.

▪️India currently holds around 6.9% of the UK's textile import market. Increasing this share to around 10% could create an incremental export opportunity of nearly USD 900 million for Indian exporters.

▪️The report estimates an overall incremental export opportunity of nearly USD 1 billion for India's textile industry over the medium to long term under the FTA.

▪️Indian apparel and home textile exporters are expected to benefit from the removal of the previous 12% tariff disadvantage, improving their competitiveness in the UK market.

While the opportunity is significant, the report notes that exporters will need to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen working capital, and continue meeting quality, sustainability and compliance requirements to fully capitalize on the expected demand.

At OfBusiness Group, we believe more women should have the opportunity to build skills, earn independently, and create livelihoods of their own.

With this intent, we initiated a skill development program for women in collaboration with Hamari Pahchan.

Through the program, women received hands-on training in different crafts and learned skills that can help them create a source of income for themselves.

Handmade products created through the efforts of around 500 women were recently showcased at our Gurugram office. We came together to encourage their work by purchasing the products on display.

The initiative reflects our continued focus on creating opportunities that help more women move towards financial independence through practical skills and meaningful work.

India's coal sector continued its growth momentum in July 2026.

Coal production reached 69.75 million tonnes, up 7.51% year-on-year, while coal dispatch increased 17.34% to 86.33 million tonnes.

The latest figures also reflect a broader trend. Commercial and captive coal mining have become an increasingly important part of India's coal production, with their contribution rising from 10.9% in FY 2021–22 to 20.2% in FY 2025–26.

For industries such as steel, power and manufacturing, stronger domestic coal production supports a more reliable supply of an essential raw material.

Global Aluminium Scrap Exports: What Buyers Should Watch

The European Union is expected to introduce restrictions on aluminium scrap exports. The EU currently accounts for nearly 20% of India's aluminium scrap imports.

The UAE's temporary export ban on aluminium scrap remains in place, and exports are expected to stay restricted until the ban is officially withdrawn.

Saudi Arabia is evaluating stricter controls on non-ferrous scrap exports, although no official policy has been announced yet.

If these restrictions continue and demand for aluminium scrap increases, buyers could face reduced availability of material and higher procurement costs in the coming months.

Changes across major supplying regions could influence aluminium scrap availability and procurement planning.
