That's the gap we're here to close.
Gaialink's Climate Communication Fellowship — Cohort 2 — is officially open. 🌍
Six weeks. Hybrid across Delhi NCR. Real campaign work. Live jury panel. Learning from people actually in the field.
For Indians between 18 and 35 who want to stop just worrying about the climate — and start talking about it in a way people actually hear.
Past fellows came from CEEW, IGL, ESG Book, regenerative agriculture, and beyond.

Last year, we asked a question that stuck with us: if climate change is everyone's problem, why does it feel like no one's conversation?

So we did something about it. We brought together a small group of people, curious minds, not necessarily experts, and gave them six weeks to learn how to actually talk about climate change, through real conversations, real projects, and real practice.

What started as a six-week program didn't really end at six weeks. Assignments turned into real campaigns. Conversations kept going long after the sessions did.

This year, we're doing it again.

We're still putting the final pieces together, but we wanted you to know something is on its way. If last year taught us anything, it's that these conversations don't wait, and neither should we.

Power cuts are often framed as an individual responsibility issue.
Use less electricity. Turn off appliances. Adjust your AC.

But the reality is that grid stress, rising demand, infrastructure constraints, and extreme heat are systemic challenges. The responsibility for fixing them cannot rest solely on individuals.
So where does that leave us?

In the next session of 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, after understanding the larger picture behind power cuts and heat stress, we will be joined by Amarja K Puranam to explore what citizens can realistically do to protect themselves, support resilience, and communicate effectively during such events.

Drawing from globally recognized climate communication frameworks and public engagement principles, Amarja will help us understand:
1. How to communicate risk without creating panic
2. Why some messages drive action while others don't
3. How communication can become a tool for resilience

While the solutions may be systemic, preparedness starts with understanding.

People are not as easy to convince anymore.

A recent global survey found that while most Gen Z consumers care about sustainable packaging, very few completely trust sustainability claims made by brands.

And honestly, that tracks with what we’ve repeatedly observed while studying sustainability behaviour.

People notice when sustainability feels vague.
They notice when responsibility is pushed entirely onto consumers.
And they notice when communication sounds bigger than the actual change itself.

Awareness is not the problem anymore.
Trust is.

Because today, people do not participate long-term just because something sounds sustainable. They participate when systems feel transparent, practical and believable in everyday life.

The future of sustainability communication will probably depend less on saying more and more on proving things consistently over time.

THIS TIME, LET’S PREPARE BEFORE THE HEAT HITS US. 🌡️⚠️

India isn't just getting hotter; it’s getting slower. We talk about climate change as a headline, but for a founder or an operations lead, it’s a systemic risk to productivity and infrastructure.

The problem? The Context Gap. We have the data, but we don’t have the roadmap to redesign our systems.

To bridge this, we’re thrilled to introduce our first expert for the Decoding Heat Stress series: Jyoti Singh.

As a Senior Program Associate at WRI India and a specialist in Remote Sensing & GIS, Jyoti uses satellite imagery to decode the "invisible" drivers of heat rise across Indian districts. She doesn’t just look at thermometers; she maps urban resilience.

In this session, we’re moving beyond the data to find out:
🔹 What is actually powering the heat rise in your district?
🔹 How heat stress shifts work hours and breaks infrastructure.
