Fish fry recipe 😍

Here's a simple and delicious fish fry recipe that you can whip up in no time:

Ingredients:

500g fish fillets (e.g., tilapia, cod, or any firm fish)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornmeal or breadcrumbs (optional for extra crispiness)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon turmeric (optional)

1/2 teaspoon chili powder or cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 large egg

1/4 cup milk (or water for lighter batter)

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Fish:

Wash the fish fillets and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Season the fillets lightly with salt and pepper.

2. Set Up Breading Station:

In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal (if using), paprika, garlic powder, turmeric, chili powder, salt, and pepper.

In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk together.

3. Coat the Fish:

Dip each fish fillet into the egg mixture, ensuring it's coated evenly.

Dredge it in the flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks. Shake off any excess.

4. Heat the Oil:

Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or skillet over medium heat. The oil is ready when a small piece of batter sizzles instantly upon dropping it in.

5. Fry the Fish:

Carefully place the coated fish into the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan.

6. Drain and Serve:

Remove the fish and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve hot with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
