We delivered an elite training camp for U10 players here in Haldwani. The level was much better than expected and a great foundation to build from.

One year ago, I arrived in India for an exploratory month that included two weekend coaching courses and the launch of our first underprivileged school programme.

I left knowing this was where the next chapter of my career belonged.

Fast forward to today and Sahayak is now coaching over 1,000 children every week across 13 schools in Haldwani, with another 14 schools expected to join before the end of the year.

What makes me most proud is not just the growth of the programme, but the development of people.

We’ve recently expanded our coaching team, promoted young leaders into senior roles, and continue building an ecosystem where football becomes a vehicle for leadership, confidence, communication, and opportunity.

Working in under-resourced environments is never straightforward. It requires patience, consistency, and belief. But through strong partnerships, dedicated staff, and support from local government, doors are beginning to open.

The next few months are incredibly exciting with our second district launching in Almora, the return of our grassroots league, and continued work towards creating sustainable football development opportunities across India.

Personally, I’m also honoured to have been shortlisted for an AIFF task force focused on football philosophy development, while continuing my own education this summer at the TOVO Academy workshop at Princeton University.

There is still a huge amount of work ahead, but the foundations are firmly in place.

This is only the beginning.
