* Biofloc Technology
6 Golden Rules

📖 ICAR Research Reference

Adoption of Biofloc Technology by Fish Farmers of West Bengal – Journal of the Inland Fisheries Society of India

https://epubs.icar.org.in/index.php/JIFSI/article/view/122360

Ammonia Management in Biofloc: A Key to Healthy Fish Farming

High ammonia levels in biofloc systems can be deadly for fish, causing stress, disease, and even mass mortality. Proper ammonia control is crucial for success in sustainable aquaculture.

🔹 Why is Ammonia Dangerous?

Toxic to fish, damaging gills and reducing growth.

Can lead to mass fish kills if unchecked.

🔹 How to Control Ammonia in Biofloc?
✔ Probiotics & Beneficial Bacteria – Use Bacillus strains to break down ammonia.
✔ Carbon Source (Molasses/Tapioca) – Maintain C:N ratio (15:1 to 20:1).
✔ Aeration & Mixing – Ensure proper oxygen levels for nitrifying bacteria.
✔ Regular Monitoring – Test ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate weekly.

🔹 Fish Vigyan’s Solution:
