In this Bharatanāṭyam portrayal by Pavithra Srinivasan, Arjuna stands on the battlefield of Kurukṣetra, torn between duty and emotion, courage and compassion.

His dilemma before the war mirrors the inner conflicts each of us faces in moments of deep confusion and choice.

That was Arjuna’s situation, much like what we all go through during times of dilemma and uncertainty.

We are honored to formalize our long-standing collaboration with the Foundation for Study of Indian Culture (FSIC) (fsic.in) through an official MoU.

Together, we are committed to elevating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) within academic discourse and transforming the epistemic lens of social sciences in Indian Higher Education.

Ahead of the formal MoU, blessed by Paramācārya, the guru-paramparā, and Kanchi Kāmākṣī Devī, Bṛhat and FSIC laid the groundwork with a successful 2-day workshop on "Contemporary Questions: Daily Life & Indian Knowledge Systems" at SCSVMV University, Kanchipuram (Feb 19-20).

This formal agreement paves the way for scalable, institutional collaborations designed to reshape the social science paradigm through an authentic IKS lens.

A key priority will be facilitating a structured pathway to integrate traditional Gurukul education seamlessly into the modern academic framework via B.A. and other undergrad programs , bridging heritage with contemporary pedagogy.

The recent TCS episode underscores the importance of civilizational worldviews in shaping institutional conduct.

India Incorporated must move beyond blame and invest in leadership cultures rooted in dharma — integrating responsibility, restraint, trust, and long-term value creation.

In this dialogue, Sh. Raghu Ananthanarayanan presents a six-fold typology for Wisdom Leadership, offering a framework for leaders to act with efficiency, conscience, and civilizational clarity.

This Bangalore edition is a one-day immersive lab for creators, founders, designers and storytellers who want to build culturally resonant products and experiences.

From rasa theory and storytelling to Pañcāṅga-inspired product thinking, the workshop explores how Indian Knowledge Systems can move beyond theory into living design, communication and innovation frameworks.

Designed especially for Bangalore’s vibrant startup and creative ecosystem, the workshop brings together aesthetics, ethics, technology and product imagination to ask an important question: how can culture become a meaningful consumer experience?

If you are a cultural entrepreneur, product storyteller, designer, founder, educator or creator working at the intersection of culture and innovation, this workshop is for you.

Join us in reimagining Indian knowledge as contemporary product experience, narrative and design.

Bṛhat is honoured to formalize an MoU with the Institute of Railways and Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow.

The collaboration will focus on the institutionalization of Indian Knowledge Systems as part of Mission Karmayogi’s endeavor to integrate IKS-based frameworks in training and capacity-building initiatives.

As part of this partnership, we had initially conducted a day-long workshop for 20 senior-level officials at the IRITM premises.

Our engagements with the Capacity Building Commission, IRITM, and, more recently, the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) mark important milestones, signalling a growing State interest in embedding IKS-led thought leadership across key national institutions.

We look forward to deepening these dialogues with personnel across the various arms of Bhārata, and to developing IKS-based training modules that are contextually relevant, practically applicable, and meaningfully aligned with the needs of their work.

Bṛhat is honoured to collaborate with National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) to conduct an insightful session on IKS-based leadership for their officers and stakeholders.

The session focused on the institutionalization of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) as part of Mission Karmayogi, highlighting how timeless Bhāratīya knowledge traditions can strengthen values-driven leadership, institutional excellence, and public service orientation.

This engagement marks an important step to integrate IKS-based perspectives into training and capacity-building initiatives. It will help institutionalize IKS into this critical arm of national security.

Knowledge. Values. Leadership. Service.

Every course at Bṛhat is an attempt to open a new doorway into Indian Knowledge Systems through topics, experts, and a learning experience that stays with people.

Our recent course Śāstra in Stone did exactly that. Through inscriptions and primary sources, participants were invited to encounter Indian history, Dharmaśāstra, and ancient public life in a deeper and more grounded way. It ran as a 10-session, 20-hour course led by Śrī Raghothama Rao.

What stays with us most is the response it received:

One participant wrote that attending the sessions felt like a “jñāna yajña that I have had the good fortune of attending” and that this was “an enlightening series.”

Another shared, “this light has burnt that ignorance” and reflected on how the course offered “a new perspective” while inspiring them to return to “the authentic sources.”

This is why we do what we do.
Offer thoughtful, experiential and efficient learning models that genuinely create an intended impact.

And the journey continues.

Coming up at Bṛhat:

- Meru, Matra, and Music: A Mathematical Exploration workshop
- Daśāvatāras of Viṣṇu
- Religious Literacy for a Polarized World - registrations open now: https://www.brhat.in/courses/religious-literacy-for-a-polarized-world-introduction-to-comparative-theology

With every new topic and every expert we bring in, our hope remains the same: to create learning that is transformative.
