Today more than ever before in a topsy-turvy world, a reminder of the original intent of Friendship Day as per Dr. Ramon: A special day & it helps people to remember friends in a special way, to be able to cultivate & value this beautiful feeling that one has towards others.

What better time to be grateful for the gift of friendship that sustains us, & to celebrate the bonds that make our life so much richer?

60 years ago in Paraguay, Dr Ramon Bracho a surgeon, believed that friendship is central to overcome people’s cultural, political & religious differences. He recalled: the seed was sown when he went to an event to celebrate trees. The doctor was inspired & thought it interesting - the gesture of a "day of the tree". He thought that friendship is so important & does not have its day, so it seemed an extraordinary idea. The next evening 20 July 1958 at dinner with friends in Puerto Pinasco, a town on Paraguay River, he proposed an idea to promote the value of friendship so as to foster a peaceful society. Thus the World Friendship Crusade was formed. Today the Foundation promotes friendship among all human beings, regardless of race, color or religion.

Employers should continue to take employee stress seriously.

Human Resources professionals should expect to continue to see employees suffering anxiety that is aggravated by the pandemic.

Even the most emotionally healthy people have felt anxious over the last few months as the world has dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic.

A survey by Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) found:
41% of employees were feeling burned out from work
23% felt depressed
1 in 5 reported that COVID threatened the tangible parts of jobs a great extent
Employees saw threats to personal opportunities, job security, safe working conditions, and benefits and pay.

What are you feeling?
Possibly the simplest of questions, has left countless people stammering for an answer. The disorienting effects of COVID-19 on our daily lives, health & on economic activity have overwhelmed people - and forming a response to such an innocent query triggers an overload that stymies articulation. Demonstrating a highly visible & caring leadership becomes critical at such times.

Organization's Antibodies!
The current crisis has forced organizations to take greater stock of their mission & capabilities.
It is vital for organizations to appreciate the fear, anxiety & worry the virus is triggering & to find ways to substitute negative emotions with love, empathy & other positive feelings.
Call this psychological, feelings or emotions; this is as much a social crisis as a health crisis.
To deal with this new environment, organizations will have to focus on building up 'emotional antibodies'.
Not an easy task! Leaders are often distant from the front lines to understand the feelings & emotions at work. However, there are ‘important’ resources that, if developed, can produce organizational antibodies: People who possess & display certain leadership strengths, often without having any title / authority. They include those who demonstrate desired behaviors, connect with people across the organization & intuitively link positive feelings with day-to-day activities.
Looking inward & tapping into these informal leaders; formal leaders have the power to build & reinforce the organization’s antibodies.
This collective wisdom of organization’s antibodies is a powerful asset that Leaders can use to stabilize the workforce’s health while ensuring business continuity.

Virtual Workshop on "Role Space Mapping" by People Practices

The term “role” (Pareek, 1993) refers to the position one occupies in a social system or organization, as defined by the expectations of significant persons. The individual who occupies a particular role performs various functions to meet the expectations raised by the significant people in the organization with whom he or she has to interact in order to achieve success in the role (in both organizational and personal 'spaces').

25 accomplished women from a Fin-tech MNC together researched their roles.

How do you keep an audience of 50+ millennials engaged and interested for an hour plus ..... when you know the generational limit of patience is just a few minutes!!!!!!!!

This was the foremost thought in our minds when we were invited to do a session for in Jodhpur, Academy of Higher Education & Mumbai

After debating internally, the final choice of getting them to "Rediscover" themselves through the turned out to be a wonderful choice! Customizing with contextual examples which the youngsters were able to relate to easily, made the session that much more interesting and lively!

The youngsters loved it, participated actively, posed some great questions and appreciated the insights they gained!

All in all, a satisfying evening's work! Not only a satisfied client but also a validation of our approach in delivering bespoke solutions to every client that we work with!
