Katra Intermodal Hub : where transit meets devotion. Our highly aspirational and conceptual entry for a design competition.
Our proposal was Inspired by the surrounding hills and the pilgrimage journey, the design takes on a stepped, cascading form.
A layered program integrates transport, retail, culture, and hospitality into a seamless urban experience.
Terraces and visual corridors connect people to the landscape and the idea of ascent.
Designed as both infrastructure and emotion, serving millions while remaining rooted in humility.
A gateway that is as much about arrival as it is about becoming.

Continuing with the office design series.
This proposal was for a temporary office for Meera Fibretek at RTC Cross Roads, Hyderabad, designed to be quick to construct and cost effective. As a ground floor structure, the material palette was kept simple: steel framing, brick flooring, and Mangalore tiles responding to the character of the 100-year-old factory building beside it.
The plan is linear due to the space constraint, organised around a series of small courts that bring in natural light, enable cross ventilation, and connect the workspace to the outdoors. These courts break the length of the plan while creating a porous, climate-responsive office environment for the people working within it.

Hostel Blocks – Badruka School of Management, Dabilpur. An ongoing project.
The hostel complex at Badruka School of Management is conceived as three interwoven blocks each housing 120 students in single occupancy rooms that frame a central pedestrian street. This internal street becomes the social spine of the development, visually and physically connecting the existing sheet rock and water body to the “Zone of Silence” meditation pavilion.
Rising to a height of 24 meters, each block is punctuated by three triple-height breakout spaces that act as communal hubs for relaxation, informal interaction, and shared activities. These vertical social spaces bring light, openness, and a sense of collective life into the hostel environment.
All hostel rooms are designed with attached washrooms to ensure privacy and comfort. In addition, every floor incorporates shared activity areas that encourage interaction and foster a sense of community among students.
The design balances privacy with sociability, creating a living environment that supports both quiet reflection and vibrant student life.

Architectural sketches don’t need to be perfect or hyper-realistic. In fact, they are often more powerful when they are loose and expressive, capturing the essence, atmosphere, and intent of the design rather than every detail. A good sketch suggests the idea of the building and invites the viewer to imagine the space. Design for a residential space near Hyderabad

Why Sketching is Important in the Design Process. Sketching is the fastest way to turn ideas into visible form. It allows designers to think through drawing, explore multiple possibilities quickly, and develop concepts without the pressure of perfection. Because sketches are loose and flexible, they encourage experimentation, creativity, and discovery. A simple sketch can also communicate complex ideas instantly to collaborators or clients.
In essence, sketching is not just drawing, it is a way of thinking, exploring, and evolving design ideas. Ideas for an apartment interior design ✏️

Conceptual idea for an apartment complex at Medchal. The design is a podium tower structure with the parking floors occupying the first 3 levels and the tower comprises of the residential units. The conceptual thought here was to establish the clubhouse along the inner edges of the parking podium floors as it would cascade down towards the central green/ swimming pool zone. One can walk down from the podium slab on to the central zone 8.5 meters below via steps and ramps creating a playful walkway that meanders along the edges as well as gently steps towards the central core.

Anganwadi | Maharashtra
Two intersecting triangles generate a hexagonal heart — a flexible central space for learning, play, and community.
The remaining triangular edges house washrooms and a pantry, while the others open outward into the play area, dissolving the boundary between inside and outside.
The triangle — the most elemental shape formed with the least lines evolves into a hexagon, hinting at a circle: from finite edges to infinite continuity. A metaphor for growth.

Emphasis on horizontality.
Locally sourced brick.
Kalai finish for soft reflected light.
Jaalis for cross ventilation.
An extended floating roof that releases hot air while diffusing daylight.
Rooted. Porous. Climatically responsive.
