Learning About Millets at Nutrihub TBI, ICAR - Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad.

Today, we were delighted to welcome students from Classes 6–8 of Delhi Public School to Nutrihub!

As part of their visit, the students explored the Crop Cafeteria, where they got an opportunity to see all nine millet crops in the field, along with the matured panicles and grains of each millet.

The students also visited the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and Custom Hiring Centre (CFC), gaining valuable insights into millet cultivation, technology, and innovation.

It was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they experienced the journey of millets from crop to grain!

We look forward to inspiring more young minds towards a healthier and more sustainable future.

Nutrihub TBI ICAR-IIMR, participated in the Food Technology Facilitation Meet organised by Tamil Nadu Food Processing and Agri Export Promotion Corporation - tnapex_gov at SIDCO, Chennai on 13 August 2026. J. Stanley, Director/CEO gave a talk on Food processing technologies, value addition of Millets, and capacity-building initiatives of Nutrihub, ICAR-IIMR. Presentation on Roadmap for Millets in Maharashtra!!!

Dr Johnson Stanley, Principal Scientist & CEO, Nutrihub ICAR-IIMR, presented the Draft Roadmap for Millets in Maharashtra, focusing on strengthening millet value chains and creating sustainable market opportunities.

Key priorities highlighted:
* Addressing production, processing and market gaps
* Strengthening farmer–market linkages and price discovery
* Promoting value addition, branding and quality standards
* Building the capacity of 60 SMART CBOs and 600 members
* Establishing a Centre of Excellence at ICAR-IIMR, Solapur.

A collaborative roadmap for making millets good for farmers, consumers, businesses and the planet.

Glimpses from the Training Program on Millets Value Chain & Value Addition!

Nutrihub ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad organized a hands-on training program focused on millet value chain, value addition, millet-based recipes and improved food technologies.

The program brought together learning, demonstrations and practical exposure, showcasing the potential of millets to create nutritious, innovative and value-added food products.

From millet recipes to processing-unit visits, it was a wonderful experience of learning, exploring and celebrating the versatility of millets!

Glimpses from a Millet-Focused Training-cum-Exposure Visit!

Nutrihub TBI ICAR-IIMR, conducted a Training-cum-Exposure Visit on Millets Value Chain & Value Addition through Recipes and Improved Food Technologies for SHG Women on 13 August 2026.

The programme provided participants with practical insights into:
- Millet value chain and value addition
- Innovative millet-based recipes
- Improved food processing technologies
- Opportunities for entrepreneurship and income generation
- Knowledge sharing and interactive learning

The enthusiastic participation of the SHG women made the programme truly engaging and inspiring. The exposure aimed to strengthen their knowledge and skills in millet-based food processing and encourage them to explore new opportunities in the millet sector.

A day filled with learning, interaction, hands-on exposure and inspiration!

🚀 Empowering Food Processing MSMEs through Advanced Technologies!

Nutrihub, ICAR–IIMR, in collaboration with NIFTEM-T, Thanjavur, successfully organised a One-Day Offline Training Programme on “Advanced Food Processing Technologies for Food Processing MSMEs” on 7 August 2026, exclusively for TNAPEx MSMEs under the RAMP Programme.

The programme was graced by Prof. V. Palanimuthu, Director, NIFTEM-T and Dr. J. Stanley, CEO & Director, NUTRIHUB, ICAR-IIMR , ICAR–IIMR whose presence and insights added immense value to the programme.

The training covered commercial product development & value addition, modern packaging technologies & shelf-life enhancement, food safety and regulatory compliance, along with expert sessions, practical exposure and a guided visit to NIFTEM Thanjavur pilot plants and advanced food processing facilities.
