Nursing simply hasn’t got the place it deserves, more so in the Indian context. There are multiple challenges ranging from it not being viewed as an aspirational profession to the lack of recognition as an important constituent in healthcare delivery. Not surprisingly, they continue to get a raw deal from different quarters: policymakers, physicians, hospital promoters, colleagues around them and even the society at large.

To kickstart a conversation on a difficult, but extremely relevant subject here is a soul-searching session with some of the veterans in Indian nursing: Col Binu Sharma, Jothi Clara Micheal, Capt. Usha Banerjee, Dr Swati Rane, Antonia Pushparaj, Moderated by Ratan Jalan
