Donatekart Foundation Flags Off Second Relief Shipment of 14 Tonnes for Nepal Flood-Affected Families
Flagged off by the Governor of Punjab, shelter and relief material is on the way for 600+ families
Chandigarh, 18 September 2026 - Donatekart Foundation today dispatched its second relief shipment for families affected by the flash floods in Nepal. The 14-tonne consignment, carried on by three 22-feet truck, were flagged off by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, who commended the effort.
The first shipment, also 12 tonnes, delivered drinking water, dry rations, ready-to-eat meals and hygiene products in the immediate aftermath of the floods.
The second shipment responds to providing shelter directly. It carries shelter and household material for 600+ families, each including mattresses, mosquito nets, blankets, tarpaulins and other essentials, along with a kitchen kit of four glasses, four plates and one pressure cooker.
The shipment moves through the Red Cross network. The Indian Red Cross Society is transporting the material to the Nepal Red Cross Society, which is distributing it across affected districts with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
A third shipment is planned for next week. A Donatekart team will also travel to Nepal in coming days to assess needs directly and mobilise further support.
“Relief has to follow what families actually need, and that need changes week to week,” said Sarang Bobade, Founder and CEO, Donatekart. “We started with water and food. Today it is shelter. Humanity has no borders, and neither should support for communities when they need it most.”
The effort reflects a long standing commitment of Donatekart to deliver relief beyond borders.
