The sandalwood (Santunum Album) also known as Chandan was used to be Rs 6,410 per tonne in 1956 where as it is costing around Rs 6000 per 1 Kg now (Rs 60 lakhs per tonne). The market availability is dropped from 4000 tonnes in 1950 to less than 300 tonnes now. The sandal wood oil cost also drastically changed from Rs 44,000/kg in 2004 to Rs 1,50, 000 now. The demand for the natural sandalwood is increasing faster than supply, mainly because of scarcity in production in India. But the cost of the sandal wood is increasing by 15- 20% every year. Considering this high demand, Prakruthi Vanam offers sandalwood plants with 100% responsibility for maintenance. The project Prakruthi Vanam will provide a plot along with 12 sandal wood saplings. The farming and maintenance is taken care by technical teams under the expert guidance and trained farming workers for 15 years. An average of Rs 6000 / Kg is the market rate of sandal wood as of today. Every tree will give about 30 Kgs yield which means an average of Rs 6000 X 30 Kgs X 12 plants will be the profit that you can receive on sandal wood trading i.e., Rs 21,60,000. A major share of 60% of the profits will be shared to customer while 40% is with company for 15 years of maintenance under technical experts and round the clock yield security. The Memorandum of understanding (MoU) on this will be executed and a copy will be shared to the customer ensuring transparency.
