Ginger is a flowering plant whose rhizome, ginger root or ginger, is widely used as a spice and a folk medicine. It is a herbaceous perennial which grows annual pseudostems (false stems made of the rolled bases of leaves) about one meter tall bearing narrow leaf blades. The inflorescences bear flowers having pale yellow petals with purple edges, and arise directly from the rhizome on separate shoots. Ginger contains gingerol, which has powerful medicinal properties, It can treat many forms of nausea, especially morning sickness. Ginger may drastically lower blood sugars and improve heart disease risk factors. Assam, the eastern state was the largest producer of ginger in India. This stood at nearly 168 thousand metric tons, contributing about 17.5 percent to the country's ginger production. Maharashtra followed, with West Bengal ranking third that same year. Maida is a white flour from the Indian subcontinent, made from wheat. Finely milled without any bran, refined, and bleached, it closely resembles cake flour. Maida is used extensively for making fast foods, baked goods such as pastries, bread, several varieties of sweets, and traditional flatbreads. Karnataka (15%) is the largest state for maize cultivation followed by Rajasthan (13%) and Madhya Pradesh (10%). After rice and wheat, maize is the third most important field crop in India. Maize has three growing seasons in India, namely Kharif, Rabi and Spring. Global sales for all types of exported flours totaled US$5.8 billion during 2019. That dollar amount reflects a -6.5% decrease since 2015 and an -11.9% dip from 2018 to 2019. From a continent perspective, $2.5 billion or 42.6% worth of worldwide flour exports during 2019 originated in Asia, trailed by suppliers in Europe (36%) and North America (10.1%). Latin America plus the Caribbean was responsible for 7.7% of international flour sales total, compared to 2.9% for African exporters. About 0.5% came from shippers in Oceania led by Australia and New Zealand.

Clove is a plant grown in parts of Asia and South America. People use the oils, dried flower buds, leaves, and stems to make medicine.Clove is most commonly applied directly to the gums for toothache, pain control during dental work, and other dental-related issues. But there is limited scientific research to support these and other uses.In foods and beverages, clove is used as a flavoring. In manufacturing, clove is used in toothpaste, soaps, cosmetics, perfumes, and ci******es. Clove ci******es, also called kreteks, generally contain 60% to 80% to***co and 20% to 40% ground clove. Clove might slow blood clotting. Taking clove oil along with medications that also slow clotting might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding.Clove contains eugenol. Eugenol is the part of clove that might slow blood clotting. Eugenol is very fragrant and gives allspice and clove their distinctive smell. Tamil Nadu produced the largest volume of cloves in India in fiscal year 2020. This was an estimated 1,000 metric tons over an area of 1,020 hectares. The country produced over 1,250 metric tons of cloves that year. Africa Leads the Clove Market, with Madagascar being the Largest Clove Exporter. Madagascar is the second-largest producer and leading exporter of clove, with more than 31.5% of global clove exports. For India, Madagascar is the most preferred source for clove because of the bilateral trade treaty, where India gets the product without any import duty. In addition, Indonesia primarily imports clove from Madagascar to be used in the production of clove ci******es known as kretek. The major importers of clove from Madagascar, in terms of value, as of 2018, were India (USD 138,323 thousand), Indonesia (USD 105,650 thousand), Singapore (USD 76,938 thousand), and Malaysia (USD 21,861 thousand). India is the largest importer of clove, with a 27.6% share of total clove exports from Madagascar, followed by Indonesia and Singapore, with 21.1% and 15.3%, respectively.

21/10/2020

Soybean oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the soybean (Glycine max). It is one of the most widely consumed cooking oils and the second most consumed vegetable oil. As a drying oil, processed soybean oil is also used as a base for printing inks (soy ink) and oil paints. To produce soybean oil, the soybeans are cracked, adjusted for moisture content, heated to between 60 and 88 °C (140–190 °F), rolled into flakes, and solvent-extracted with hexanes. The oil is then refined, blended for different applications, and sometimes hydrogenated. Soybean oils, both liquid and partially hydrogenated are sold as "vegetable oil," or are ingredients in a wide variety of processed foods. Most of the remaining residue (soybean meal) is used as animal feed. Soybean oil is one of many drying oils, which means that it will slowly harden (due to free-radical based polymerization) upon exposure to air, forming a flexible, transparent, and waterproof solid. Because of this property, it is used in some printing ink and oil paint formulations. However, other oils (such as linseed oil) may be superior for some drying oil applications. Production of soybean in India is dominated by Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh which contribute 89 per cent of the total production. Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat contribute the remaining 11 per cent production.
