*Why Smiles Are Important*

When you smile, not only do you feel happy, but you also bring a ray of light into the lives of others. Someone once said, "A smile is a curve that sets everything straight, by increasing your face value."Know that a smile is a little thing that can produce great results. All it takes is a smile to make short work of many difficulties, for just being happy helps others along. We've often thought of a smile as the touch of God given to His people.

When you smile, you pass positive energy on.

A day without a smile is a day wasted. Some people grin and bear it, while others smile and change the world. Don't you love the feelings of a returned smile? It can pe*****te the soul and release good into the world. It can make friends of strangers. It can bring friends closer together. It can bridge the generation gap. It can fill the heart with love.

A smile is a light in the window of the soul, indicating that the heart is at home. God put a smile on our faces so that we would see that the world needs that aura to lighten the darkness of iniquity that we live in today.

INSTEAD OF SURVEYING YOUR EMPLOYEES, INTERVIEW THEM

Many companies use surveys to get employee feedback, but often surveys are a pain to complete and people don’t put much thought into filling them out. A better way to learn what your employees want (or don’t) is to interview them. Real conversations can unearth more-detailed insights than tick-the-box questions can — and they don’t have to be time-consuming or expensive. Whether in person or over the phone, ask open-ended questions that will help you learn how the employees thinks and makes decisions. For example, something like “How did you decide to join this company instead of other options available?” or "What do you like most about your current job / job role / company?" will probably reveal more than “How satisfied are you in your present job / company?” or "What do you suggest the new policy should include You’ll likely hear a variety of responses, so keep interviewing employees until their answers start to repeat each other; 12 to 16 interviews is a good place to start. Remember, you’re after quality of information, not quantity. It may take fewer conversations than you expect to find out what you need to know.

To Manage Your Time, Track It

If you sometimes have no idea where the day has gone, or if you can’t seem to accurately estimate how much time a task will take you, try keeping a log. Breaking your work down into categories — such as personal growth, core job duties, administrative work, etc. — will be easier than keeping track of every single task. You could also break it down by short-term, long-term, and urgent tasks, or by high, medium, and low priorities. If you’re a pen-and-paper person, create a time-tracking chart and update it at the end of each day. If you’re more digitally oriented, there are different apps that can do the math for you. Either way, at the end of a couple of weeks you will have a clear picture of how you’re spending — and wasting — your most precious resource.

Cut Down on Errors and Improve Quality

Today’s customers have myriad outlets to air grievances about poor service or faulty products. And because cycle times in most industries have shrunk, the likelihood of errors has increased. To prevent problems, concern for quality needs to be embedded in the company culture. Doing this requires clear communication at every level.
• Executives need to emphasize quality’s importance when evaluating employees and announcing new initiatives.
• Managers should regularly discuss processes to improve quality with their teams.
• Employees need to be encouraged to hold one another accountable, and feel comfortable raising concerns about quality violations.
