Exercise Eastern Bridge-V
Indian Air Force is having a bilateral joint exercise with Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) scheduled from 17th to 26th of October 2019 at Air Force Base Masirah of RAFO.

The last edition of this exercise was held in 2017 at Jamnagar in India.
IAF Contingent consists of Mig-29 UPG Multirole fighters and C-17 Cargo Aircrafts. They will exercise along with RAFO's Eurofighter Typhoon, F-16 and Hawk Aircrafts.

The exercise will enhance inter-operability between two Air Forces and provide an opportunity to learn from each others. It will also promote professional interaction, exchange of experience and operational knowledge.

This will be for the first time when IAF's MiG's will participate in an international exercise outside India. This is the 5th edition of The Exercise Eastern Bridge-V.

Today On 11th Sept IAF has formally inducted indigenously developed Netra AEW&C system into its inventory at AFS Bhishinia. It will be the second such system to be inducted into the IAF.
Dr. S Guruprasad DS&DG (DRDO) handed over the aircraft to Air Mshl R Nambiar AOC-in-C of IAF.
Netra is an Advanced Early Warning & Control System consisting of two back to back attached indigenously developed AESA radars with IFF sensors fitted on Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft.

After arriving at AFS Hindan this is the first maiden flight of IAF'S first AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopter.
Sooner the first batch of 4 AH-64E Apache's will be inducted into the IAF at AFS Pathankot by Chief of Air Staff ACM BS Dhanoa.

Today, On 2nd Sep 2019 IAF ACM BS Dhanoa flew a sortie with Wg Cdr Abhinandan Varthman at AFS Pathankot in a Mig-21 trainer aircraft.
Wg CDR Abhinandan had shot down a Pakistani F-16 during an aerial combat with his Mig-21 earlier in February.
ACM BS Dhanoa also was a Mig-21 pilot and has flown the aircraft during The Kargil War.
This will be ACM BS Dhanoa's last fighter jet sortie before his retirement.

Years back on this Day, On 25th Aug 1981 IAF's mighty Mig-25 flew its first sortie. Wg CDR A J Singh, CO 102 sqn and the then CAS ACM Idris Latif were the pilots in its maiden flight. Mig-25 , 'Garuda' is one of the fastest fighters to have entered into the military service.

The first batch of 4 AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopter has been arrived at the Hindon AFS.

Next batch of other 4 Apache's will arrive in next few weeks.

All these 8 will be inducted into the IAF between August- September and will be stationed at Pathankot AFS.
