Navguide Solutions has signed an MOU with the Forward Seamens Union of India (FSUI) to encourage Indian seafarers in their journey towards higher ranks.
FSUI is one of India's most active unions, representing ship's crew and ratings — the men and women who are the backbone of every vessel at sea. Their mission is to support and uplift Indian seafarers, and specifically to create a pathway for ratings to grow into officers.
That mission falls exactly in line with ours.
For too long, the gap between a rating and an officer has been bridged by luck — by whether you happened to sail with a good mentor, whether someone had the time and the patience to show you things. Not everyone gets that. And that's not fair.
Under this MOU, FSUI will encourage their members to download our App Guide2Inspections [https://lnkd.in/gpx67tGy], created with several years of research, to act like a mentor in the pocket and take them through the practical aspects of their jobs - a tool for upgrading skills, building confidence, and preparing for the challenges of the next rank.
The MOU was signed by our Chief Strategy Officer, David Birwadkar, last week in Mumbai.
