GeoRocks Day 2026 – Celebrating 5 Years of Delivering Values!!

GeoRocks Consulting marks 5 years of helping the mining and exploration industry uncover value beneath the surface. What began as a mission to bring deep geoscience expertise to mineral exploration has grown into a trusted partner for global mining companies and investors.

❇️ Our journey in last 5 years:
- Supported 50+ mineral exploration and mining due-diligence projects worldwide
- Guided clients end-to-end, from target generation to feasibility
- Bridged traditional geology with modern geo-informatics for smarter decisions

❇️ Highlights from 2025-26:
This year 2025-26, we delivered some important consulting projects across India and overseas, with a strong focus on hashtag and metals:

· Phase 2 exploration of a polymetallic ( , ) concessions in Tanzania, East Africa that included detailed geological mapping, ground magnetic surveys, IP-resistivity surveys for selection of drilling targets.
· Systematic geological sampling and ground magnetic surveys over copper and concessions in DR Congo, Central Africa
· Techno-economic feasibility study of a mining project in New Caledonia.
· Techno-economic assessment and auction advisory for blocks in Madhya Pradesh, manganese and block in Odisha and block in Maharashtra, India.
· Detailed geological mapping and geochemical sampling for an exploration project in Meghalaya, India.
· Techno-economic due diligence of quartzite mining projects in Bhutan for a ferro-alloys producer.
· Geological mapping and geochemical sampling for a exploration project in Southern India.

A heartfelt thank you to our clients, friends, associates, and partners who made this milestone possible. As we move forward, we remain committed to innovation, integrity, and excellence in geoscience. Here’s to the next chapter of responsible discovery. ⛏️

31/03/2026

Glauconite, a phyllosilicate mineral belonging to mica group, is a key source of potassium or potash which is an essential macronutrient required in agriculture for plant’s healthy growth. Glauconite occurs mainly in sedimentary rocks such as sandstone, siltstone, and limestone, imparting a distinctive green colour and is an indicator of marine depositional environments.

Glauconite is a natural fertilizer and “slow release” source of potassium, magnesium and iron and also acts as soil conditioner by improving soil properties and structure by enhancing water retention capabilities. Apart from agriculture industry, glauconitic sand is also used in water filtration, waste water treatment and as a construction material.

Presently, most of the global potash demand is met through bedded marine evaporite deposits such as sylvite, carnallite, kainite and polyhalite. Considering limited occurrence of such high-grade potash bearing deposits in India, it is necessary to explore alternative low-grade resources such as glauconitic sandstone and shale. Recognizing its importance, Govt of India included glauconite in the list of critical and strategic minerals.

The list of the mineral blocks in 7th tranche of the auctions of critical and strategic minerals launched by the Ministry of Mines, Govt of India recently, includes 6 glauconite blocks located in Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Gujarat. The location maps and a summary of the salient features of the blocks are enclosed.
