The Directorate of Geology and Mining, Government of Madhya Pradesh, has issued an NIT dated 30.07.2026 for the auction of 12 mineral blocks under Mining Lease (ML) and Composite License (CL) categories. The auction presents significant opportunities across a range of mineral commodities including limestone, base metal (Zn, Cu, Ag & Au), bauxite & aluminous laterite, manganese iron ore laterite & manganese.

The Ministry of Mines, Government of India has launched the 8th Tranche of Critical Mineral Auctions, featuring 20 strategic resource blocks spread across 9 states.

From deep evaporite potash deposits in Punjab and Rajasthan to rare metal pegmatites in West Bengal and multi-element lateritic belts in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, this map showcases India's expanding supply chain foundation.

Key Highlights at a Glance:
📍 20 Mineral Blocks across 9 states (12 new blocks, 8 second-attempt blocks).
🌾 Fertilizer Security: Deep potash, halite, and glauconite reserves across Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar.
🔋 Tech-Critical Assets: Rare Metals (Lithium, Cesium, Rubidium) in West Bengal, Tungsten in Rajasthan, REEs in Maharashtra, and Molybdenum in Andhra Pradesh.

Ministry of Mines, Government of India has launched 8th tranche of the critical mineral blocks auctions on 15.07.2026 with 20 mineral blocks (12 fresh blocks and 8 reattempt blocks) located in 9 different states across India.

Note: Beku Rare metal block from West Bengal is listed under "1st attempt" blocks, but this block is also a 2nd attempt block as this was 1 of the 2 blocks listed earlier in the 6th tranche.

Within a short gap of just 1 month after conclusion of 7th tranche, Ministry of Mines, Govt of India has again come up with another NIT yesterday for 8th tranche of hashtag block auctions with 20 blocks (13 fresh blocks and 7 reattempt blocks) of wide range minerals including located in different states of India.

Odisha is emerging as one of India's important graphite-bearing regions, hosting deposits primarily within the Eastern Ghats Mobile Belt. Major graphite occurrences are reported from Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir districts. 3 graphite blocks have been auctioned so far from this belt.

GeoRocks Consulting got the opportunity to carry out techno-economic assessment of the Lamer Panga-A block, one of the 3 graphite blocks put up in the ongoing 7th tranche of the critical mineral block auctions. In this block, disseminated flakes of graphite occur within the migmatised khondalite.
