Dr. Dilip Kumar Datta, an alumni of Presidency College, Calcutta is an M. Tech (Chemical Engineering), M.B.A in Finance and has done Ph.D in Business Management from University of Calcutta. He is with Sayantan Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (SCPL), for 30 years as CEO and Director. He served in Uco Bank and Industrial Reconstruction Bank of India (IRBI) in senior position for 22 years. His core competence is Turnaround Management, Corporate Restructuring, Industrial Revival, Techno Economic Appraisal of projects and handling Corporate Bankruptcy. He has prepared more than 3000 reports of Techno economic viability of various large and medium scale projects. In his doctoral thesis, he has developed empirical models that not only segregate ‘good performing’ companies from ‘bad performing’ companies but also predict the probability of a company becoming sick in the near future. He has long experience in teaching Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Merger and Acquisitions and Global Financial Management as a visiting faculty in various Management Institutes including Calcutta University and Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM). A number of articles authored by him have been published in various journals including, IIMB Management Review (Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore), The Journal of Industrial Statistics (Central Statistics Office, IS Wing, Govt. of India), The SURVEY (IISWBM), The Management Accountant (The Institute of Cost Accountants of India), Chartered Secretary (The Institute of Company Secretaries of India) and The Chartered Accountant (The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). He is a member of International Turnaround Management Association (TMA), Chicago, USA, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), All India Management Association (AIMA), Association of Corporate Advisers & Executives (ACAE), Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IICh.E), Consultancy Development Centre (CDC). He is a Senior Life Member of Operational Research Society of India (ORSI), Kolkata.
